for the record best thread ever, in this one you can see who the downplayers are, who the drama queens are, who likes making fun, who enjoys these, and who gets frustrated by others opinions easily. to me thats what makes this thread interesting.
and i did, hellbringer told me he thought he was bottoom 5 i believe, may have been 10, i thought he could have been Bottom middle, because i realize even though i play him every day, and i know the struggle more than others, people who play against him, may feel he is broke because something catches them off guard, or his different setups may confuse them, or they get baited.
along with the factor we all have to account for, a character by its self is in different Tier lists depending on who is playing that character, and then there is all the different matchups with all the different players that you play aginst who use them differently.
because i feel that no one person knows every single character and variation, there is no way for any one person to make a successful MU chart or tier list(and on that note i don't think a single team can do it either and would be difficult for several teams to put one togther as well), and on TYM, it can never be done. but cyrax is either low mid or below, give or take. it just so happends that i main him that you find fault with the placement?
or is it you struggle with that matchup?
either way i have talked with enough players to find where my character stands.

Your mixups, be it hard to bloackable or safe, means nothing if you can't get in to implement them. If you don't know that much then you should not call anyone dump or oblivious and should not, by any means, attempt to make a tier list.
Time to stop beating around the bush and get to it. Read it and weep. The tier list is made regarding the best variation of the character (READ EDIT AT BOTTOM), and it's in no particular order.
S Tier: Mileena, Kano, Johnny Cage, D'Vorah, Takeda, Ermac, Sonya, Alien

What the tiers represent
S tier: These characters are the cream of the crop in this game and have many benefits to choosing them and very few negatives.

A+ Tier: These characters are very strong tourney characters, they have either have the same strengths as S tier character but with an extra weakness, or slightly less strength but same low amount of negatives
A Tier: These characters are strong tourney characters. A and A+ tier characters are pretty similar in terms of what they can do, but the A+ characters just feel like they have a tiny bit more Oomph compared to A tier. When people talk balanced and good they usually refer to this tier, but this is MKX so of course they're still plenty dirty.

B+ Tier: Okay now we're approaching characters that are "Decent tourney characters". They have good strengths but noticeable weaknesses or have average strengths with small weaknesses. Characters here can win a tourney but definitely have to put in more work and reads than A tier members. In a normal game these characters would be considered fair and balanced.
B Tier: If you win a tourney with a character here then we salute you.
List of Changes
- Moved Jacqui from being a character with a (+) in B+ tier to A tier.
- Moved Sonya from A+ tier to a character a (-) in S tier.
- Moving Kenshi to A tier, Kenjutsu is fine
- Sonya can stay S tier, I was wrong lol
- Triborg has the (?) removed from him, I think A tier is fine.
- Jason now has a (+), he's dumb
- Alien is now S tier without a (-)
- And all ya'll Sub-Zero downplayers can go home, A+ is fine.
EDIT: Actually slight edit, if you're lucky to have a character that can function like a Swiss pocket knife and have multiple useful variations that might cover an occasional bad MU then that's taken into consideration a bit. Not in the sense like Kung Jin's Ancestral is dogshit so he drops a tier, I mean like how Ferra Torr or Quan Chi can change up depending on the MU. It should better explain some placements on here, I don't really see anything changing since every character has a best/goto variation anyways.
damn good tier list, id swap a couple , with minor changes but all in all very solid.
one huge thing that bothers me is you need to place Triborgs Characters in thier own spots, Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke and Cyber Sub Zero should be separate, because they share a few normals does not make them variations, they are completely different characters, Thgey work totally differently, i can only speak of the ones i know of very well, and thats Sektor Smoke and OFC Cyrax.
Cyrax:
is a very gussing based character, relays on Setups and Gimicks to catch opponent off guard, not saying any of his setups are not viable or good, just saying he has to guess what yoiu are gonna do before he does it to be safe, since many of his setups are unsafe at best wording, and later on the ending of the combos he usually sets up an HTB or some sort of mixup bait or gimick to catch opponent off guard to carry more damage. because there are so many things for him to consider in each senario of these setups, Spacing on his footing in middle of combos, tight timings to execute before throwing each bomb out, and which bomb of a possible 12 thats including 3 high 3 low and 6 metered, it makes them difficult to pull off effectively each time consistantly. he is probably the hardest of the triborgs to master.
Sektor:
has good damage, and very good options in air to make tele safe and so on, he has very good spaceing, he accels at controling distance, mid to long, even though there is zoners that out zone him. his game is to out space cause wiffs, and add plus frames to make his OS safe from a distance to catch them off guard.
Smoke:
is more of an all around version of Triborg, he has great mind games, a good Pseudo Vortex, ok space control, and ok Plus pressure, and a great EX get out of everything tool. and good damage, more of his game is baits and punishes, as well as corner hostility. and looping armorable Vortexs. thats why i call them Pseudo's
CSZ, is another Setup artist, but after patch it has changed a bit, imo, he is more about launching them to corner to get the pressure on, mid screen is about setups and baiting and using his range to setup off his advantage.
Note: i do not use CSZ anymore and don't know him as well, but here he is worse off than the other 4, not sure though with that madzin performance over Cyrax, but then again, it was only 2 days after patch, and many people didn't even know you could jump out of armor out and even backdash the, Standing 4(airborn opponent) into Mid low bomb, B3D4 setup. at that point in time. among many other setups that wernt even used or discovered.
since each of them are so different, they can not be labeled as one Character with 4 different variations, they are in fact Different characters more so than any other character can be, and since each "variation" is previous Characters from the MK roster its safe to say we should see them listed separate.
In the march 10 hotfix, they fixed him not being able to combo from DB3 up rock. Or atleast it was something like that. But all the tremor players was really happy at that hotfix, he must've been buffed in some way. A tremor HTB off of EX Up Rock was found but they patched that out. Crystalline is still pretty good. RIP Metallic, RIP Aftershock.
hey i herd that Tremor has an unblockable, and i figured id ask about it, since i don't main him, and really don't know if it was an uneducated post or if its been proven incorrect? so is he capable of Unblockable in corner now?
What happened to C, D, F tiers? I missed those days because all of these B+ B B- and forcing the majority of the characters to sit in A+ isn't working for me.

He can get an unblockable in the corner with mb up rock after a knockdown. It's great vs slow wake-ups (I think 10 frames gets you out?) and if you don't delay wake-up. If you delay you avoid it clean, but Tremor can wait and delay the set-up. He can also be thrown since wake-up throw is 10 frames but you still take 10% damage from the falling rock.
