I have some MIPS assembly programming experience from college, I could probably mess around and learn x86 as well. Not sure how much time I would have to really work on it though but I could maybe try and see.

I know there's some other software developers in the MKC, maybe we can round some of them up and see who would be interested.

I'd like to point out that even with those resets those characters (except possibly Cyrax) aren't even that strong compared to current tops of the roster (especially in MU's against them).
I agree that those things are pretty damn OTT, but they should be addressed after a truckload of other fixes. At this point it's easier to wait for the next NRS game, whatever it's gonna be.

Are the servers still up for PC? I know some have said there's issues with the PC version but I believe they took down the servers for Xbox and PS3 for MK 9.
