MK11 Roster - 29 Characters Confirmed

If they show Jax and a Guest, I think this is the worst day of my MK-Based life. :-p

If they show Cetrion/Kollector/Frost/Noob/Kitana/Erron/D'vorah + a cool MK based character, this could end up a very cool day.

but around the time they show these trailers in America, I'm already watching series and movies with my boyfriend, so I probably see the stuff tomorrow.

If it were so obvious then why do people disagree? Mileena is a popular character compared overall to the cast but she is definately nowhere near Scorpion, Sub-Zero or Raiden. There is nothing to suggest that Mileena is as popular as them.

Even if she was, NRS certainly does not think so. Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden are in every generation of Mortal Kombat and in every game, barring MK3 and MK: Tournament Edition. Mileena clearly isn't.

They are also among the first characters to be announced in the NRS era, indeed Scorpion and Sub-Zero were in the reveal trailer for MKX and then after E3 Raiden was the first character announed. For MK11 Scorpion and Raiden were in the reveal trailer with Sub-Zero announced afterward in the Reveal event. Mileena was one of the last characters to be shown for MKX in the story trailer at the end of February and was confirmed to be playable in the Cage family trailer for a split second, one month before release. She was one of the least promoted characters in the entire marketing cycle for MKX. We are one month from from MK11 and there is no sign of Mileena for MK11 for the second time in a row and it is not even clear she is even in MK11.

Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden are also been in crossover as guests in Injustice and were in MK v DC. Mileena has not been and was not in the roster for MK vs DC either.

Very curious what they'll announce today. Worst case it'll be Jax, although I say that only with previous itterations of Jax in mind, maybe this time they'll up their game with him too like they did with Jacqui. Best case would be Either Noob, Frost, Kollector or the other new one. As for the guest? I'm still hoping its either Pennywise or Terminator, but Spawn wouldn't surprize me.

But imagine the storm if the first DLC character is Mileena. Also, I think Noob is about as popular as Mileena.

I think to really figure out how popular a character is, we need to use swole units. Usually, it's to measure gainz, BUT I think it'll work well in this case. As far as female fighters go, Milleena has more swole than Kitana and Jade combined. We can't really pit women and men against each other since their swole is different, however, I feel like Scorpion has always had more swole than Sub, except in this game it seems pretty equal.

Why do people on here consistently argue over popularity of characters? Everything is subjective - just because person A likes a character doesn't mean person B has to .

The game is what it is .it's not tailored specifically to you and varied enough to where EVERYONE should have characters they like and dislike in it (everyone needs a punching dummy to practice on, right?!)

I agree. If you count the squares, the first 25 have boxes of the same brightness. They fade out from there to indicate DLC. Interesting to find out though...

There are 29 boxes, yes, but Boon said 25 characters. Now Shang Tsung is confirmed as first DLC, it throws out the legitimacy of secret characters perhaps (which we were thinking were the 4 slots making 29 on the site). If you look at them they start fading out after the 25th slot on the site, which may indicate they're more like placeholders for continuing DLC

Stop thinking so much and putting so much faith in this website. The most likely answer for the extra slots are that they're just placeholders for the DLC characters, and more'll be added when the rest of them are revealed.

I find weird to believe they are fading because there's more. Also, 28 + 6 = 34 (which was the total amount of slots in the leak), why would they put just 29? Seems random keep this faded pattern to say "hey, there's more", because we already know how much DLC characters the kombat pack has.

For all we know, Geras or Cetrion might be the unlockable characters in MK11.

Probably Cetrion IMO. We've only seen this in writing as well and never actually heard Paulo say it so it probably was never intended to be as big of a noteworthy thing as it had become. Of course I want to be wrong though lmao.

Nope. Noob isn't next week, Tyler confirmed it. But, Noob will be on one of the Kombat Kasts. I think next week will be Kitana, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao.

Maybe they'll only have three DLC characters after Kombat Pack 1 instead of another six, kind of like how the first Injustice had four DLC characters, but then added two highly requested characters.

Idk I just feel like 3 is a low number for a pack. That'd leave us 34 Characters.

MKX ended up with 33 so it'd have one more character than MKX, but Injustice 2 had 38 characters.

I just feel like it fits better to have 28 base roster (including Shao Kahn and 3 unlockables) then have 6 Characters in KP1, then 4 in KP2. Cause then it'd leave us with the same amount of characters as in Injustice 2.

You also have to take Guest characters into account. MKX and Injustice 2 both had 4 guests, I don't necessarily see them stopping this trend considering they're their biggest money makers. I feel like it'd be a set up for disaster to only have 3 characters in one pack and only have 1 be an MK character. Unless KP1 is even between 3 MK characters and 3 Guests, and then if KP2 has 3 characters it could be 1 guest and 2 MK characters. But I feel like people would flip out of if it was half and half (Honestly, NRS can't win when it comes to Guests and people who aren't in the casual audience)

MKX had 8 DLC + Pre-order bonus
Injustice 2 had 9 DLC + Pre-Order bonus
It just makes sense for MK11 to have 10 DLC + Pre-Order bonus.

Then to add onto that, with 38 Characters the select screen would be looking so nice and symmetrical (The way it currently looks lowkey urks me.)
