MK11 Reveal Event livestream info!

So the legit email leak seems to imply that Geras isn't playable but will only be revealed. It says that they wanted to show a trailer for Shao Kahn but he isn't ready yet, so instead they are having to play a trailer for Geras. It mentions nothing about him being playable and it would be weird if he was the special reveal -- a character in the playable build.

Knowing this, it means that this new "leak" is saying there will only be 7 playable characters:
  1. Scorpion
  2. Sub-Zero
  3. Raiden
  4. Sonya Blade
  5. Johnny Cage
  6. Kronika
  7. Ryujin
That's also assuming that Kronika is actually playable in the current build. If not, then it's only 6 characters.

I doubt there will only be 6-7 characters in the build. They usually show 6-8 at E3 and that's when the game is almost a year away. We are much closer so I'm thinking there will be closer to 10 in the build + 1 or 2 revealed (including Geras) not actually playable yet. Maybe I'm wrong and they will show the same amount as they usually do, but I really don't think so.

I also think Reptile has a pretty good chance of getting revealed because we've already concluded that the lizard teaser that Ed Boon posted seems to be a character intro. While it being a story mode screenshot isn't completely out of the question, the positioning of the lizard looks like it could be exactly on the battle line where the fight takes place and the camera looks similar to the intro camera shots that were in Injustice 2 (in my opinion).

Lastly I'm not buying the whole "hey guys there was a post that leaked stuff but it got taken down, here you go, here's the info tho" thing. You mean to tell me a new leak went up and it wasn't spammed everywhere on Reddit, Twitter, Test Your Might etc and somehow got instantly taken down? Seriously? Even if they aren't lying and there really was a post on 4chan or whatever, it's still just an anonymous post with no credibility at all. Also, not being able to remember one of the TWO map names only to call it something generic like "Tropics" makes it even more fishy. This is total BS in my opinion.

In some insane scenario where this is real, I don't think that this deconfirms Fujin though. If anything it means that they are actually wanting to put more Elder Gods besides just Raiden in.

The existence of the exhibition matches leads me to believe we'll get quite a few character reveals.

By the time of the reveal event we'll have only 95 days till release. Even if they revealed 10 characters, we'd still need to get a character reveal pretty much once a week for the entire roster to be shown before release.

A once a week character reveal non stop hype train to release would be awesome though

It's what I'm saying though. Non-playable cameos are what NRS does. Nobody likes it when they pick your character, but its what they do.

Rain's origin was a 2 second cameo in the UMK3 attract mode. He was neither playable or otherwise referenced in the game. That's identical to this.

He was in the middle of the action though, strongly hinting at him being playable. I understand that we are going to see some characters like Fujin or Nightwolf in the story that won't end up in the roaster, but Rain, Sindel and Baraka fans really got screwed hard by having their characters in the game kinda sorta but not really.

Also placing them in the middle of the action during a trailer maybe isn't the best idea. That's just setting up for disappointment.

Well fightable NPCs aren't going to happen again so that's not a worry anymore.

Who knows, maybe he is? I mean I could be wrong about all of this.

I just think there is more pointing towards the leak being fake than in it's favor.
