Best variation or are they both equally good/MU specific? Thinking about picking him up.
Both good really, like Nightwolf. Depending on your playstyle, DB3 gives you pushback to hit confirm your combos / dash cancel gives you hit confirm into throw. BF2 / DB1 ? Purpose is the same but one krushing blows and the other can be amp on distance.

I'd say Mean Streak's air buzzsaw can be caught with Nomad Dash after amplification, with Clean Cut - very rarely.

Mean Streak is way harder to learn, but gives a huge pressure advantage. The ground buzzsaw is much like the lower hook grab.

How do you end combos with Mean Streak without using db4 for corner switch since there's no db3 hook grab for same side. Do you go for F4 1+3?

Anyone else struggling with extending the string with 23 or 11 after a B12D2 crushing blow? If not, then please do tell how to get it right 99% of the time.

Wait until your opponent is at about waist height for 23, 11 for females because if inconsistency

Zero. No Kabals made Top 16. This is an ongoing trend that I think will continue until someone like Sonicfox picks him up.
I dont think Sonic will go for Kabal for simple raeson - there are other characters that do what he does, and are better.

Curbo played Kabal, because he has love for Kabal.

I love how kabal is considered the safest character in the game, yet there is a consistent way in the corner to make him at least -30 to -35. it costs me so many goddamn games it‘s not even funny. If you happen to be in a juggle before you get nomad dashed you can breakaway between 23xND, meaning 2(breakaway)3xND. Kabal then runs against the wall for ages.
this is what I mean:

Jade can punish him with her f2 which is 28 frames meaning it‘s at least -29. you don‘t have to be frame perfect so it‘s definitely even more minus

here is another example:



Look how long I waited before I s4 punished it.

this is a consistent way to do it, but not the only one. There are several ways for this to happen depending on how late your opponent breaks away and absorbs the hits.

Yes it‘s just this specific way. Your opponent can do it when kabal does b12d2 or d2 kb, jik, or b12 amp buzzsaw. Speed demon is even more vulnerable to this since bf2 is his optimal starter in the corner. When nomad dash gets absorbed by the armor of breakaway you‘re safe most of the time depending on the gravity of the combo.

Yeah a lot of characters have this problem. Kotal has the same issue in totemic if he uses cat near the corner and the opponent breaks the cat will just keep going like Nomad Dash does here. Ascension can't risk doing his usual cmd grab ender anywhere if the opponent has meter to break because the grab is death on whiff.

Just something you have to adjust to if the opponent has meter to break.

Can someone explain how to counter Kabal's overhead/low mixups to me in Mean Streak and Clean Kut? F224, B12 and F41+3 along with the low spinner and the low hook grab for the low mix.

I feel like I can fuzzy F224/low hook grab and react to the low spinner on the same mixup. Anyone want to save me some lab time and tell me what I shouldn't be getting hit by and what is that real mix?
