Yea, I completely agree. It makes absolutely no sense. Incentivizing your player base to use the assist less in an assist based game is mind boggling.Punishing the player for using their assists in this assist-based game is a helluva concept. Surely the trade-off that already existed for cashing out your assist in a combo was not having that assist to use in neutral for a while, but now the wait's even longer? I don't get it.

I agree. The best assist character in the game had multiple uses outside of combo extensions and they slammed him hard. lolOf course, but if your game is balanced in such a way that you only use them in combos, well you should fix that. I’ve been saying that all throughout this thread, the next tournament will just be whatever the replacements for cyrax/raiden/johnny are and people will talk about how boring it is and be asking for nerfs all over again.Given how heavy handed NRS is with balancing, and the fact making a change to a single Kameo can affect half the cast, I think this game's balance will essentially always be a game of musical chairs and shifting top tiers.
In a few years I think we'll be exactly where we are now. A definitive top tier that synergizes well with whatever Kameo meta exists at the time, 80% of the characters sitting somewhere in A+ to A- range, and the bottom 3-5 that basically didn't have a place to go when the music stopped.
I suspect Raiden/Cyrax is still going to be around to a certain degree. They only scaled Raiden's damage off shocker, so he will still be a chip monster and steal your turn. He just can't do it quite as often, and when he hits you, he'll do 38% instead of 48%. I honestly think the shocker scaling and kameo nerfs hurt Raiden/Jax more.We need patch notes. This patch seems very incomplete to me.
Thank fuck Cyrax was nerfed cause I couldn't stand seeing another Baraka/Raiden paired with him and lets face it, this was the single most braindead carry me kameo out there. Same with the damage nerfs for Raiden and Baraka. But I agree that they went a bit overboard with Cyrax. Damage scaling, flawless block giving no meter, and additional cooldown time would have sufficed. Lao will definitely be the go to kameo now.
Then we have characters like Johnny, Ashrah, and Sub who are seemingly untouched. Why? You nerf Scorpion but not Johnny? Johnny is ridiculous and right now THE best character in the game, no doubt. Ashrah is definitely top 3. Sub is still worst character in game imo.
Oh, and we get ONE additional gear piece in the Shrine... lol.

What exactly would you nerf on Johnny? His pressure is the one thing making him good, maybe his walk speed/dash speed so he has a harder time getting in? From here, Reddit and gamefaqs it sounds like people just want to be able to mash out like they did in mk11.We need patch notes. This patch seems very incomplete to me.

Basically just lockdown animation cancels with ambushes got some light touches (appears to be around 3-5% depending on character and kameo) alongside Baraka + Raiden losing ~10% on average (which puts them to average damage instead of leaps and bounds above average damage).I see a lot of damage scaling stuff, so reduce damage across the board?
