Microsoft Respond To Concerns Over Xbox1

Good point.

You are not the target audience of Microsoft.
I may not be, BUT I have bought roughly 200 games, two arcade sticks, 4 controllers, Kinect, Buzz buzzers (those quiz things), Live Gold for last 3 years, Numerous MS points, Headsets all Guitar hero stuff, including 6 guitars and more. All of that was income for them.

I am gone. I can only hope there are thousands more "non target crowd" people like me and the fuckers go under.

So who is? What can the Xbone do that the PS4 can't?

It can run Killer Instinct.

I am from the PC MASTER RACE lol and I came to PS3 for GoW3 and MK9. I'm doing the same shit for Killer Instinct. Last gen the best combo was PC/PS3 and all I missed out on was Gears and Halo. This gen I have very little interest in the PS3 exclusives but Xbox will have Killer Instinct.

Why should I go PS4 when it doesn't run anything the Xbox can't?

360 was a better gaming console then the ps3. Ps3 doesn't even have cross game chat. Thats what i meant by "Microsoft got sony with the 360" better Console
yeah because sony had the cell and 256 ram
games on both was better on x360
and have cross chat
but ps3 exclusives was insane
sony knew the mistake they did and they fixed it
microsoft knew the mistakes that they had in x360
but they fucked up harder

Well, if you're going for gears and halo, that seems to be the only real reasons. I hardly think gears and halo are worth all the anti consumer practices and extra price, since they as a franchise are thoroughly milked.

I think MS is broadening their target demographic. Look you sound like a hard core gamer, more than me.

In the last year or two I have been watching more SC2 and FGC tournament footage on Twitch than gaming and streaming digital movies via PSN/Netflix.

For someone like me Xbox is a perfectly viable system and since it sports Killer Instinct, a system seller for me, so it's all good.

Change is inevitable if you drop trough and take an MS prison shower. Unless you're a Halo fan boy there's absolutely NO reason to buy an XBone over a PS4.

Xbox has 8 Gigs of DDR3 powering 3 OSs which take up 3 gigs, leaving only 5gigs for the developers to work with. PS4 is 8 gigs of DDR5 RAM with only 1 gig allocated to a sole OS. $100 cheaper for console, $40 cheaper for the paywall, plus a hundred more advantages, why would anyone in their right mind choose XCrud?
Killer Instinct and the 11 or so other exculsives say hi.

Power isn't everything, and to get everything that the X1 has for the PS4 you'll be paying the same amount if not more. MS in the next gen, just like in the current one, will most likely have the better online, the better services, and the better infrastructure. Just having the box will only get you so far, and though Sony's box is an amazing step forward for the Sony brand, I'm just as OK with MS's step up from 360.

I'm also OK with/looking forward to getting a Kinect since I've actually wanted one for a while but didn't want to waste my money knowing a better one was coming. It is all about value, and to me things like Twitch, Live, Kinect (for the kids), and everything else, make me very comfortable with the X1.

All in all, I am NOT saying that the X1 is "better" that the PS4, it is different, and it speaks to me. If you are getting the PS4 over the X1, do it and be happy, but don't do it while cutting down the X1, the people who want one, all while not even truly understanding what makes the X1 a good console.

I love how some of you guys speak for the entire world with your generalizations.

The fact is, Microsoft is the best provider of technology in the world. The Xbox One is going to be a great console. The most complaints I hear are about the Xbox One being always online. The way I see it, if you don't have internet you shouldn't be looking to get a next-gen console. In a world that revolves around the internet, I fail to see how that is a bad feature.

Like he said above, change isn't a bad thing. Most people are flocking to Sony because it's 100 bucks less. You get what you pay for.

Yeah but the thing is, why not make it so that you can play offline. I don't think thats so hard to implicate. Or you can say no, and then get owned by sony's video like happened now. Hmmm who didn't see that coming? i guess micorsoft...

If they make a next gen Gears I'd give it a go. It would be brand spankin' new to me since I've never played any of them. I just wasn't interested in it last gen.

Halo I'm not crazy about but Titanfall looks amazing, being someone who grew up with Mechwarrior and Heavy Gear =)

Dude I have no idea why they did the online check in but my guess is that it's a new angle to prevent piracy and I think EA/Ubi/Acti are all on board. MS will take the flak but I think the big companies are all in on this. Personally I think it's a dumb move but it's not a move that affects me and thus doesn't affect my purchasing decision either.

It does have party chat, it just can't run between games due to the PS3's weird RAM distribution. Think about how awkward it would be if you were playing a game like GOW Acension while 3 of your friends were playing Uncharted, Gran Turismo and Killzone online simultaneously lol.

Also, the original Xbox's Xbox Live had far more vast advantages over the PS2's online (whatever it was called) and nobody gave a shit. I don't wanna hear "well online gaming wasn't big back then" either because Halo 2 was still going strong right up until Microsoft officially stopped supporting the OG Xbox in 2010.

Holy shit that's a strawman if I've ever seen one.

Apples to oranges.
Straw man? No.

The point is that various things can happen that get in the way of you gaming. Whether it be Internet, power, people, services, money, etc., allowing your buying habits to be dictated due to freak outlying events is IMO unfounded.

If that was the case they wouldn't be limiting it's exposure and putting sanctions on people (for brevity sake). In fact, they're doing the opposite of what you suggest.

MS made it quite clear that all those who fall under "not always connected" will be covered by their 360. Their analyst must figure the loss of gamers who aren't always connected is inferior to those who are but are not just gamers and thus, take 2 steps back but 1 step forward.

Besides, tell me the story of your future that doesn't have everyone connected to the internet because I'd love to hear it.

Edit: you know what I'd like to add something because it stuck out earlier when I read it. Some guy mentioned that troops on military bases don't always have internet and that they wouldn't be able to enjoy the Xbox One.

During my time in service I remember clearing the ONE night I tried to game and I had less than 45 minutes. I played a Burnout game with another dude from my platoon and you know what? I think I got in 5 races before I told myself there wasn't any point to this and just left and did PT instead.

The online only issue I think is what is really making folks angry though as well as the kinect if they would just do away with crap then they would earn brownie points, but so far they satnd for it, IDK why they could'nt just allow the offline functionality and just make a required thing when it comes to trading and what not.

I totally understand someone who has had an xbox since the beginning and wants to continue supporting xbox. I've been with Sony since ps1 so i was naturally gonna gravitate towards ps4. Imo ps4 has stomped xbox one (but like i mentioned i am biased towards sony). But what i dont understand is how people just assume if you have internet at all its always 100% connected. my internet constantly goes out and because of that i hardly ever play online. Also my internet provider had a strike fairly recently and while that was going on i hardly had internet period. That is why i appreciate the freedom to play offline because there are things that you simply can't control, such as internet going out, strikes, or whatever. If i had an Xbox one i couldnt ever play the damn thing because of my extremely unreliable internet. also add in the restrictions Microsoft is putting on used games and kinect watching you constantly is just creepy. Also it seems like microsoft doesnt really care about people like me or their core fanbase. I just don't understand why people would support this kind of behavior from any company. And just because microsoft does it doesn't mean "it's the future" it means they're greedy dicks. Sony proved that when they announced their used game policy, no internet required, and price

Power affects both equally. So its not an issue when it comes to deciding.
