If you say so. I've seen plenty of matches on stream, plenty of tournament matches, where punishable things go unpunished. Not saying it's never going to be punished, just that some things are easier to punish in practice mode then in an actual match. B12 and it's follow ups aren't safe, but with decent reads and conditioning it can at least be usable some of the time.

I’ll agree that if you’re looking for it then it’s easy. However Raiden is equally easily able to condition the opponent with various other options and this will significantly increase the difficulty of landing the 7f jab punish

So is v1 pretty good now with the added mind game of throw or spark port?
It depends somewhat on what you thought of the variation before. The bigger changes are the F1 and F11 hitbox, F2 being plus on block, better BF1 Amp, F32 being an overhead. The B12 changes aren't that big of a deal, since Raiden is still mostly unsafe doing B12 unless you're doing a good job of reading the opponent and trying to condition them.

I think TW is a solid variation. It probably doesn't have the safety or anything broken enough to carry anybody, but if you play solid you're more than capable of finding a way to outplay your opponent.

At this point I'd think of B12 being kind of an unsafe stagger situation. Raiden has a couple options in using B12, all of them various degrees of being unsafe.
 
Did anyone check supposed fix to B12 1+3? It came out like 2 hours ago. Check against half of the cast if possible,I dont have access to MK11.

The string got fixed bless the elder Gods. Also to everyone who thought the bug was intentional congratulations you just played yourself.
lets be fair here

Raiden has an air projectile move that is forced into a fixed position and can't be timed like everyone else.

Raiden has a chip damage move that can't be placed on the screen manually and held there like everyone else.

Raiden still has an attack that just outright whiffs in various situations.

Raiden still has perhaps the dumbest krushing blow in the game.

It wasn't really s stretch to think this was normal.

I hate the fact that b2 KB is the same and that d1 does not jail into 12 but I wont complain anymore. Even those might eventually come

How do you test that? I recorded Raiden doing d1 into 12 as fast as possible and I tried to mash d1 as SZ between d1 and 12 and I always succeed. Am I missing something?
You set the AI to duck and not to block. Then you hit confirm your poke into S12. If the AI ducks you then you did the jail too late. If you hit the AI then you've successfully jailed. I use this to test S3 jailing and other stuff. D1 is +10/11 and s1 is 7f startup. It should jail.

I can't record videos though so unless you take my word for it you'll have to test it yourself.

EDIT: Remember that while yes it's theoretically possible to jail it. You need to take note of the range of normals as well. However, S1 doesn't really have an issue as far as I know. The hit-box may look very high but it can jail from both D1 and D3 rather reliably at close range (which is where you are going to be jailing anyway).

S1 actually does have an issue jailing sometimes and that's because when you hit someone with D1, hit animation kinda moves their head a bit lower and Raiden's S1 hits very high. I was hoping they would fix that. It's a very good anti air at least.

As far as I know the hit reaction doesn't affect the jailing. S1 definitely jails from D1. If you hit from max range then maybe it won't reach but up close it jails

Ok my bad everyone. I just hopped on to test and I tested on 2 characters, Jacqui (Smallest hurt box in the game) and Johnny (one of if not the smallest male hurt box). With Johnny it works fine, but S1 does indeed whiff on Jacqui regardless of when you do D1/3. So I guess it only jails on males (so sorry for the misleading information). However, Raiden has 2 11f mids that jail off his pokes so there’s not much need to jail 12 either (At least off pokes)

So sorry for the confusion

Its okay. I know its hard to believe character you love to play is having fundamental issues. No other character has such issues in the game(besides Shao maybe). You are absolutely right tho. Pokes into f3 is so strong right now. On hit f3 into 100k options feels really nice. I just wished lord Paulo blessed us with consistency(MAKE B31 NOT PUT PEOPLE IN AIRBORNE STATE)
B31 is fine imo, just confirm into summon lightning for juicy damage, or do fly and you'll be safe against breakaway anyways. The main point of landing any combo with Raiden should always be the corner carry (unless you're T&L and don't have fly) anyway

True that,Raidens offense is dumb in corner.
