Labbing Kabals third variation, how good is he really?

And people were telling me "Oh hurrr, he only gets like 2-3% more damage on his combos." lol NOPE. Burned Sanic does much more the 2-3% more damage. Try 5-8% on average with CONSIDERABLY higher potential on KBs too (50%+ with ease instead of 36-42%)
To be fair his main bnb‘s he usually gets most of his mids do 3% more midscreen and 4% more in the corner BUT if they‘re at ~36%, have no defensive meter for rollout everything they do from this point that can be countered basically wins the round. If they jump d3 anti air = 36%-39%, flawless block u2 = 36% or do something unsafe 23 punish = 37-40%
I really miss the opressive style of mean streak but it feels good to actually do some damage now

How does the b1 OS work again? I skimmed over it and forgot to return to it so I could practice it. >.>

Also, I'm liking what I see being discussed. Hopefully Gas Blast doesn't change too much (if at all) so this stuff will still apply.
what b1 OS? theres an OS for that?

Amp gas blast is now -5 on block with extreme pushback and no flawless block gap
No amp version is -15 with increased pushback, it‘s still unsafe but you must be ready for the punish it‘s kinda strict especially when you‘re expecting the amp version

I'm gonna try learn this. I need the crutch of 50/50s or stagger pressure and this variation lacks it, but it'll be good for my neutral in general if i can use it.

Not to mention those combos look like mad fun.

Imo speed demon is just the better version of clean cut. It‘s essentially the same playstyle, extremely lame play until your opponent does something wrong but with a way higher payout than clean cut. I don‘t like this variation too much even though it‘s very good but it doesn‘t fit my playstyle, Same with clean cut. But since you play clean cut you could also like this variation.

I don't know how practical he is in a real match yet, but V3 Kabal definitely has some of the most fun combos in the game.

There were a lot of Speed Demon Kabal's at ECT. Granted none of them made Top 16. I think Clean Cut is still viable with a more reliable restand. Sometimes all it takes is the low hook to weaken the opponents tendency to block high all the time.

I saw Curbo played Speed Demon. And he was basically laming it out to win. He didn't have many opportunities to land big damages. Lovethoughs also think Speed Demon isn't that great in his streams because Kabal has to play a perfect neutral game and wait for the opponent to commit.

This guy makes a good case for the new variation.
I knew about the restands, the gas dot and heal as well as insane corner carry but I was not aware it removed the opponents option to jump. That's insanely good.

I thought this was a very strong variation before I knew that. This basically makes me believe its his best variation.
I really hope top players pick up Kabal Speed Demon at the next Major so we can see its full potential. Its crazy no one is using Kabal!

I personally think Kabal Speed Demon has more perks than Baraka to open them up and plays basically the same game bit has the gas restands which eliminates jump/WU's and hits hard. Both rely on staggers/Footsies to open them up but we completely consider Baraka viable why not Kabal V3?

But clean cut isn‘t much different. The way I see low hook is a mix to get off me tool. It doesn‘t do much damage nor does it grant you good oki, it sends the opponent fullscreen which compliments his lame playstyle and I also think that‘s his optimal way to be played. Mustard said kabal isn‘t a really good chaser and that‘s kinda true. Speed demon falls in the same category of playstyle. Lame out, wait for mistakes.

I feel Kabal plays just like Noob in that they cant do a lot to open someone up efficiently, but instead let the opponent hang themselves with mistakes. As such, each instance of mistake capitalization matters a LOT. That's why I feel Speed Demon is better than Clean Cut as SD can cash out on more damage off each hit confirm while also being able to abuse amp'd Gas Blast for healing or forcing the opponent into unfavorable decisions.

"Mind Over Matter" I dont mind, and X dont matter
D4/d1 into gas blast, is a gimmick, but if used couple of times, at a round, it does the job, and leaves opponent in sweet range on hit for follow up.

If you're willing to burn the bar, it's entirely safe too. It's a potent mind game and you dont really lose your turn if you do it from a decent D4 range.

I'd say it's solid. Any touch leads to some hurtful, noticeable pain. Dude's damage is great in this variation. I need to really start using it more, but I love Clean Cut too much. >_>
