It seems that in the last few months, the nostalgia has gotten the best of us and KI seems to be on the rise again!

KI was one of my favorite games in my late teens...I was 17 when the game was released in the arcade and 18 when it came to SNES. I played it extensively in the arcade and then again for a long time on Xband when that was still alive.

Anyway, the point here is that I've noticed that people on the KombatNetwork stream have been asking for it, and we have some very talented KI players who play MK, including Crazy Dominican, CDJr.(who is starting the game again), Maxter, Summ0ning, and myself.

I will try to continue to this KI renaissance offline, but we can get some games online as well through mame. KI runs very well in Mame 119. I will be writing up a guide to making KI 1 and 2 both work in Mame 119, and if anyone else is interested in plaing KI, PM me and I will get you all the info you need to get up and running.

If they ever reboot it, and it gets the presumable M rating, Orchid BETTER get naked at some point.

Yes! (props to [MENTION=433]DanCock[/MENTION] he needs to get over there for some KI...very good KI player as he showed me at PowerUp this year lol)

Also, hopefully this will also push the powers that be into putting KI & KI2 on XBLA as well as making KI3.

I'm a Glacius user, and because of the music, I always loved Cinder's stage. In my heyday, though, I could use Glacius, Sabrewulf, Orchid and Fulgore proficiently.

I will eventually be re-learning Sabrewulf, Orchid and Fulgore, plus adding Riptor to my repertoire... and I'm considering learning TJ Combo because he's always given me problems.


[MENTION=2]Tim Static[/MENTION] is right though... [MENTION=433]DanCock[/MENTION] is an amazing KI player... one of the best Sabrewulf players I've ever met.

I will eventually be re-learning Sabrewulf, Orchid and Fulgore, plus adding Riptor to my repertoire... and I'm considering learning TJ Combo because he's always given me problems.

Glacius was hardcore . I miss his Puddleports and Ice Spikes.
My #1, 2 and 3 were Orchid, Spinal, and Sabrewulf, but Combo was fun as hell too, I just never gave him that much time.

I've said this before and I'll say it again... though KI2 is not without its share of problems, KI2 is the technically better game, BUT, KI is louder, more in your face, and way more memorable. For what KI2 does well, there are other games that do it better, but nothing did what KI did...

I miss KI. That series is just a blast to play. T.J. Combo, Jago, Sabrewulf, Fulgore and Spinal were my favorites to play. I hate the fact that the series is in limbo right now, fucking depressing. That's my hands down favorite fighter, and everyone loves it, there's no squabbles with that series; not one...everyone and I mean everyone loves it.

yeah, yeah, time is calling for "KI" resurrection .... SF has a modern time game (SSF4AE) as a great game addition to it franchise, MK now has MK9 , so, why not our KI ?

Back in the day, was the only game that could keep up with MK in terms of being fun and violent at the same time .... and with very interesting characters on it ! I think the KI series deserve a reboot, with a new game. A lot of MK fans are KI fans as well and respect that game.

Man you about had me ready to quit KI forever lmao. nah jk but that was the first time in over a decade i played another human being in KI. sad but true

There's a lot of fun to be had with KI2... it's not the greatest fighting game ever, but like I said earlier, what it does, it does well... and it's still a fun game regardless... and they made Glacius beast mode in that game!

Yea ki 2 is fun overall. More technical, harder to learn and stuff.

Kim wu, tusk and maya were Kool. Ki3 I wish/hope they have every one from both.

Can't wait to play some games online finally I didn't know about the new 119.

I didn't know about the new 119.

Mame 119 isn't new... it's an older build but one of the most sturdy and stable builds for online play.

The only problem with KI2 is exactly that... NOBODY plays it. Only a handful of people play KI, and even less play KI2... I really enjoyed KI2... I used Jago, Orchid, and Glacius... KI1 is definitely more memorable than KI2, but again, KI2 is prob. the better game from a depth and technical level...

I need to learn him just so I can play against him in KI1... I always had a problem against TJ...
