Still, from a creativity standpoint - there just isn't much there. Lets just rehash the entire roster with Dark, Shin, or another precursory surname. I am glad that the meta designs are new, but there should be a more creative direction in terms of creating a game world.
I think it has less to do with a lack of creativity (look at the rest of the roster and not just the 3 remix characters) and more to do with money. It's clear IG has no lack of creativity in any sort of way. There was also a survey with some awesome new original character ideas (Lovecraftian, Djinn, Wendigo etc.) so I have a feeling these recent 2 remix characters have more to do with a smaller/lack of budget than any lack of creativity.

I'm waiting on the Hori XBO pad before I get back into this. Not a huge fan of the stock XBO controller, just feels weird holding it and using it in fighters. I don't know how people are using it and the PS4 controller for fighters. Both are shit.

Everyone should learn KanRa and then go read the patch notes at the beginning of season 3. There's a fun soberinginess to it.

No one is, that's the idea. Struggle with me friends as we go on a journey.
Kan ra is a good character. He has tools I wish I had as a glacius player. Anyone dedicated to a zoning playstyle sees the potential in kan ra.

Now I didn't play in season 2 when he looked insanely broken but I'm tired of the mob mentality when one person says a character isn't good and nobody even thinks about it objectively , they just agree. It's honestly no fun..

I love KanRa. Most people on this forum can probably say my Ra is decent to good. But i recognize his flaws. As a zoner, Kan doesn't succeed well enough. He doesn't do the damage and his range isn't far enough to benefit from a full screen.

He's mid to a little bit further out range (his sMP or cMP range are optimal) but because of that KanRa's always in a situation of having the control of a match and losing all momentum. The knife's edge that KanRa works on doesn't feel justified by how scattered his damage is around. Most damage will come from command grab setups and lots of ticking away at someone but if Ra makes a mistake he's eating not only 20-40% damage but the struggle of creating space again.

It's all so very confusing.

I thought this originally when i played before, that people were just over-reacting, but I watched Sleep, on his stream (Sleep is likely the single reason KanRa got nerfed like he did, the guy was the best KanRa in the world, and I may be wrong, but I believe a ton of KanRa tech and what made him the danger he was originally was Sleep's work with the character) off and on for a handful of weeks grind and fight and try to keep him viable at a high level and he just couldnt. He really tried to make the character work after the changes and he couldnt. That to me, was a bad sign.

Dont get me wrong, Im not saying KanRa is dead or anything, (THAT'S KIND OF A PUN SINCE HES A MUMMY HURR HURR) but he's def weak, and you can play him SO WELL and still lose off a touch.

Spinal got a similar treatment to kan Ra. It seemed like both chars were in the spotlight of a witch hunt by the end of s2 and got reworked to be mostly shittier.
Spinal even continued to get nerfed while getting shitty buffs later on in s3

Yes it's true, Kanras damage from full screen is severely lacking compared to glacius. It makes kanra a hard character to balance in that regard because you would basically have to buff his full screen arsenal to astronomical heights due to the damage disparity and inability to convert zoning into damage like the other true zoners in the game (i.e. Glacius)

It really is a shame because I think kan ra (along with aganos) is one of the coolest character designs of all time, despite the fact that I don't play him. Although he doesn't fit my playstyle I can appreciate him for what he is and I just hope other people can get enjoyment out of him assuming he's a viable main.

Yeah I thought people were overreacting to what Sleep said about the s3 changes because people often do. But if sleep is unable to make kanra work than it most be true to some degree, which is unfortunate

I'd argue Sleep is playing the new KanRa wrong. I only saw this because Sleep loves his zoners, every character he plays has a strong zoning game. However, when I watch Fubuki play KanRa, it's like watching a fundamentally different character and that might be the problem for Sleep.

He'd have to play KanRa from the ground up differently and that's just not his style. That's also the barrier for a lot of old Ra players. We had to relearn a lot from season 2 to season 3 and for some the work isn't worth it. Not to mention the more mid range/wild style of Fubuki has a lot of risks involved that if they don't pay off will get you blown up.
