Rare made the OG KI, but this new studio(double helix) is making this one(or at the very least, co-developing). There track record includes but is not restricted to: silent hill: homecoming, g.i. joe rise of the cobra, front mission evolved, green lantern:rise of the manhunters and battleship.

The game is most definitely not in good hands. Why doesn't MS just let rare make the game? Why involve a studio with one of the worst track records I've ever seen(did you see that gi joe game?!!).

Oh well, probably wasn't going to buy an xbone anyway.
why are you under the impression Rare knows or even knew how to make a good fighting game?? Thats just plain silly. LBSH, they got lucky with KI. I don't know exactly who all was involved with that project back then, but I know for a fact that DH has some people who know what they're doing. But to compare DH's past games to Rare's back when KI was first made is just silly, and it shouldn't even be discussed.

Invalid point.

Melee and brawl were EVO games. Only on wii.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom was a Wii only game and an Evo game. Huge participants entrants too.

ALL TEKKEN GAMES Since Tag1 to 5 DR were console exclusives, and they all were Evo games with HUGE turnoouts.

Moot point IMO .
I'm talking for the game to stay in the long run for events like EVO for more than 1 year.
Super Smash is its own nintendo hit. They don't need PS or XB for them to do better.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom lasted only one year at EVO. I wish it went on for longer as I loved the game.
And about Tekken, yes they started out exclusive and did very well of course, but like most fighters in this day and age, they later became non-exclusive like Dead or Alive 5 did.

Now after what happened to Microsoft at E3, more ppl are likely to buy PS4, especially for the lower price. The turnouts for KI's future might be ok but not a huge majority as in like take everything by storm imo. Idk, i'm just looking out for the game in the tourney scene cuz I want it to do really well but for me, I'm not gonna buy into Xbox for one game that interests me on that system.

Well it certainly flaws your logic.
Developers: Rareware
Publisher(s)Midway
Rareware
Nintendo

Yeah, Donkey Kong Country wasn't shit.... Nintendo, Rareware, and Midway published things and had a history of it. Ever heard of Mortal Kombat... oh wait.. TYM.. course you have. (The sarcasm is maximum)

remember Midway? Although just on the publishing end sure. But seriously Rareware was like retro studios is today. You couldn't wrong with them back then. They had like 40 games before KI.

Battle Toads, WWF Wrestlemania, Wizards and Warrios, also 8 years of experience prior to good ole' KI coming out.

EDIT: Also back in the 8-bit and 16-bit era you had to innovate or go home. Not like today where you can put out ANYTHING and people will buy it, even if its bad. Also now we can research via internet to know if a game is good or bad. And also yeah, to be fairly isn't everyone's first successful game in a genre a bit of luck too?

To be fair ther have been tons of companies who made great games even though their track record wasn't great, rocksteady anyone? Capcom Vancouver (dead rising 2 was a game I was skeptical of and became one of my fav's of this generation). Hell anyone else remember how skeptical people were about MK9 itself?

And what gives you the impression double helix can make a good fighting game? I mean I'm sure the team that worked on the original KI is long gone at this point, but at least the company has a significantly better track record at making good games than double helix.

Anyway, this was already discussed and I agreed that the game was doomed either way.
