Hey everyone, I thought I'd share with you guys what Kenshi will be capable of as of tomorrow.

First thing first, my apologies for stuttering and randomly losing my train of thought. I am very excited to see what tomorrow brings. Also, I made a couple mistakes on frame data. Enjoy!

Best change for Kenshi is his buffed up Spirit Push and Spirit Charge. Now he has better neutral.

With his stronger neutral plus the stamina nerfs, I feel like kenshi is in a pretty good spot. We'll have to wait and see how the meta plays out but I have a feeling it will be in his favour.

It's interesting that you mentioned the stamina nerfs. It reminds me of the dash nerfs in MK9 and how that made zoning stronger in that game. It'll be interesting to see how the meta plays out in the new patch.

I figure zoning will be stronger but still not overbearing. Kenshi also has the benefit of most of his enders and armor sending the opponent full screen. Getting in will be a lot more of a pain unless you want to spend a bar. Which is good news for the blind man.

New Kenshi is completely butchered. This char is garbage now. It is funny, how most nerfed characters actually got better in the new meta, buffed characters like Cryo became godlike, and Kenshi became complete bottom tier.

90% of Kenshi players think like that. Then there's the other 10% that will need some months to realize the obvious and come to the same conclusion, as happened with the previous version of Kenshi (that looks godlike compared to this one).

Then there's the common kind of tym member who knows that Kenshi sucks but has some kind of strange and despicable pleasure in trolling Kenshi players no matter how glaringly bad the situation is for us.

I think you missed the point of my comment. His name is Belial, the Lord/Demon of Lies. Saw an opportunity to have a little fun so I took it.

Personally I think this game needs a little more time to decide who's good or not since they changed a lot of stuff with this patch. Not saying you're wrong or anything, but maybe there's something we're all missing with Kenshi or other characters in this game that we think are bad. Maybe we're stuck trying playing the character one way or using his tools one way when we should be trying a different way. I'm sure that's what is trying to be done though

Possessed's DB1 is so pointless.

Why would you make a read and anti air with a move that does 9%? I mean the move is 16 frames, it's not like you're going to react with it in most cases. Why not just NJP or S1 and get 36% for a bar?

It's not great, but it has decent range, and ex version leads to 19% unbreakable. It has its uses.

I think all of Kenshi's variations lose 3-7 to Mileena, still.

Only reason to ever use it is for a brutality. Even then it's a pretty shit brutality

Balanced is complete garbage now. Some of his worst matchups are still bad/ became worse (Cassie, Shinnok, Predator, Mileena...) and matchups that were bearable prepatch have become bad, Raiden and Kitana being good examples.

I did think this would be the case as soon as I read the patch notes. He undoubtedly became worse. The only saving grace is that Possessed feels really good now. I've made the switch from kenjutsu to Possessed and life became much easier.

One thing I don't understand is their whole philosophy of giving each move a purpose yet leaving Possessed's f4 as it is. It makes no sense to me. I actually have an idea of what they could do to it to make it useful, which I might make a thread about soon.

Possessed is top 10 IMO. Balanced and Kenjustsu are garbage. Balanced, I feel, got NERFED instead of buffed in the patch.

Mileena matchup sucked prepatch and sucks now, because all that made her shine in the matchup is still there. Possessed is a terrible choice to fight vs her.

Although I focus on Balanced (full masochist, yeah) Imo practically all matchups for Possessed are either better or at least equal to prepatch. He never relied a lot on armored exdb1, and that's all he lost. His teleport gimmicks are much more solid now, and exdf4 hitbox is a good answer for crossupers, who give more problems to the other variations.
