Is Scorpion bottom 10?

I think hes on the bottom half of the cast. Vortex is just as dangerous to you than it is to the opponent, no good pokes, and super unsafe. I love this character but he makes me more and more sad everyday =(

There's no way to say until more time has been given, but he looks to be heading south on tier lists.

He has great comeback potential, but he falls flat on his face when he has to play footsies...and with how this game is turning out, not having good footsies is a problem.

at least go to the effort to make a thread that says "Heres why I think X is bottom 10", you clearly suspect that scorpion might be bottom ten so why dont you explain why you think that so others can confirm or deny it? these threads are shit.

If you like a character, play the character.

For the 49304840th time, every character in this game is tourny viable (although it seems having a team of 2 or 3 is required for tournaments to provide a smoother playthrough with all the counterpicking going on)

I love Sindel, and I didn't give a shit when people told me I was wasting my time with her.

To me she's top 2 because she's my secondary, <3
I don't judge her based on tier lists or bottom tiers.

Stop worrying about scorpions placement, and begin to up your game with him. Some characters have a harder time winning than others obviously, but dedication is key.

I don't know why he bottom ten, thus I made a fucking thread about it. The only reason I had any inkling of his gradual decline was because of the aforementioned players.

This isn't about what I think, it's me wanting to know what the kommunity thinks.

And I really, really had to try to be nice to you while I typed this.

Stop doubting yourself and your character.

With no disrespect to the community, you really shouldn't care about what they think of Scorpion's placement. As long as you believe you can be successful with him, that is all that matters. Again, the countless jokes and ridicules I got for Sindel was endless, but now she's respected. Do the same with your Scorpion.

Phenomenal post, but I don't play Scorpion. Great advice though. I guess I shouldn't care, lol, but I was extremely curious as to why he took such a sharp decline. Thanks to THTB, I understand now.

If you like a character then play him regardless of what tier hes in. But realistically Scorpion is bottom 10 probably siting anywhere from 21-23.

Honestly, I don't think Scorpion has a solid placing on any tier list. He's a character whose success is largely based on luck. You guess your mix-ups right, you got it in the bag; guess wrong and he'll be shit-tier to you.

I have recently come to form a solid game plan with Scorpion that I think will work, but I'll need to mess around with it more before confirming anything. I'll tell you more over texts when I'm sure of what I think. :)

As far as Scorpion not being able to play footsies, I don't understand why this is being said. And yes, I am aware that it takes more than simply baiting them out with Hellfire, so don't post telling me that it's not good enough for footsies. Perhaps I'm missing something here, but we live and learn.

...yeah, so summary of my post: I don't think he's shit-tier, but he's certainly not god-tier, either. You think he's got a casino down there in the Netherrealm? ;)

No footsie game in a game where rushdown and footsies are king.

That said, he puts you in a vortex and you have to flip a coin to get out or breaker. Flip wrong enough and you're dead. The most balanced game of all time is heads or tails; so in that aspect Scorpion is a very balanced character... just in a stupid way.

I can't see him having a better match up than 5/5; so for that I would say calling him bottom 10 isn't crazy talk.

He's probably bottom 10 yea. 16 Bit pretty hit the nail on the head. Not having a fast advancing safe move, not having the normal frame advantage everyone else gets with d4 on hit, having an essentially non-existent d3, and not having a decent special move to buffer these pokes into is pretty devastating in the footsie game.

I got to play Death for the first time last night, who clearly plays better footsies than I do. But at the same time it felt like even if I was on his level in the footsie department it would be hard. And yes the whacky armor happenings where the moves go right through people is just icing on the cake. :p

I think he is fine the way he is now. If you're going to give him good footsies and good pokes, you're probably going to have to take away his vortex. He can't have everything.

MK9,the only game where the symbolic fighters are some of the worst and the top 5 is inhabited by a burned guy with pizza skin shooting balls like a minigun and princess who's face is a mans.
