Is it rude?

Aquaman is dead lel
After I lose in ranked matches I push start and if a fatality starts I quit. Seriously, I am bored of watching those and we can't rematch so why should I even think about not leaving? I get some hatemail for it like "NOOB YOU LOST DONT QUIT" and stuff, but I don't care if I lose, I want to play not watch 15-20 second videos I have seen about a 100 times already. Is it rude?

It's what they want you to do. If you don't want to watch them then quit but if the hate mail is getting to you that bad then just stick it out. It KILLS your TrueSkill rating though when you quit so I advise not to.

I do the same. I don't have the patience to sit through a fatality.
And I don't care about some online rank...means nothing to me

I think ragequitting over a fatality is unnecessary.

1. It's MK, fatalities belong to MK.
2. Win if you hate to be fatalitized.
3. If the opponent does the same fatality over and over, which is really boring i know, you can also choose "no" in the "play again" screen.

If you have enough time to waste it on MK online, i think you can afford waiting out a little fatality to get out "the cool way"

I love fatalities, don't get me wrong, fatality videos from all the MK games are saved in my fav list on youtube and when I play with my friends with some popcorn and drink we do fatalities for the extra lolz, but doing it/watching it online is not fun, it's boring. I know that sounds kinda weird, but that's how I feel about them. And I don't hate being fatalitied, the only difference between getting fatalitied and losing is that it take longer :D .

I've started finding them agonisingly boring lately. I'd rather just get into my next game than watch the fatailty. For some reason it doesn't bother me in koth or player matches, but theres just something about ranked matches that makes it tiresome. I don't do it personally, but it is in no way rude.

Sorry but i will never feel its ok to fat drop. It is and never should be the losers choice what happens when you lose. period.

I dont think anyone should quit is my opinion on it. Now what gets me is in player matches I find someone to play after 10 mins of waiting or so. I loose the match they fatality me then dont play again. There decision to do whatever but if you got the nerve to fatality me allow me to fight u again. REALLY grinds my gears lol.

lol i normally dont say anything to them. When i get real mad i just send people GG..kinda a way to calm myself down haha

That should be fixed then. You've already lost at that point, what impact does staying around for a fatality have to do with your TrueSkill?

None of your points matter here; this is a question about ranked games, not player matches. There's no option to replay, you don't chose your opponent, the game finds them.

I consider it bad etiquette to fatality in ranked. I usually just kick my opponent down so we both can get on to the next game. Some fatalities have quite lengthy animations that most players have seen countless times.

In KoTH or offline casuals though it's usually a party favor to do a fatality people want to see.

My points 1. and 2. are still viable.

Also:

Does your Fatality quitting still grant the opponent his win?

If yes well whatever but don't be surprised if your reputation still suffers.

If you deny the opponent his win with fatality quit, that's ass and egoistic, ruining your opponent's match to save like 10 seconds would be pathetic.

Well i mostly play player matches and when someone fatality quits on me i don't mind, while i also try to not always do the fatality, signature normals and specials are also cool for Finish Him.
But i'd never fatality quit.

I fought another Sub-Zero and beat him twice, ending both games with a leg sweep to be respectful. I kept on allowing him to play me until the third game where I got sloppy in the mirror match and lost. He proceeded to fatality me and then left the game. Most times, I just win a match and leave now, because of stupid stuff like that. Somebody wants to play me until they win so they can do a stupid fatality and then leave before the next game.

I don't see why people say fatalitys are a enormous waste of time. To me they are just as long as the win pose.

A little longer but maybe 5-7 secs longer at most. It shouldnt be done every single match tho. Like it should be done if youre on a 3 fight win streak against sum1.

With Subby I believe it looks cooler if you whiff the first part of b12 and then insert the dagger. Or is it just me who prefers to do cool looking normals and specials instead?

I'm not a fan of them, I think they're a colossal waste of time. They're extremely bland and uninteresting as well in this installment, none of them actually stick out to me, and the ones that do are purposely meant to piss off your opponent. Sheeva's applause, JC's trophy, Ermac's stomp, Kabal's head on a stick, Shang's recycled Joker fatality, every other bland fatality that ends with the opponent showcasing the opponent's body part etc. And people wonder why the general attitude online is so horrendous.

No blood, zombie kombat, or just leg sweep/projectile from a far is always what I do.

Also, c'mon guys, the whole "well that's going to tarnish your reputation etc" speech isn't really a concern to anyone when online is so terrible to begin with...I have like 80 disconnects or so just because I hate watching fatalities. I mean, really, all I'm bypassing is being locked into an animation and sparring myself 20 seconds and selecting "No" to a rematch.

All I bought this game for was the actual fighting, not the gimmicks. I'll go dust off my old MK1 and 2 cartridges or consider getting the crappy 3D installments if I want gimmicks! :p
