Injustice - Gods Among Us Collector's Edition Revealed w/ Statue & Character Skins

A prop on the stage of life.
Netherrealm has already stated that they are going to explain how characters like Batman are even able to take on these power characters, so I wouldn't just go out and dismiss Batman entirely. The point of my disappointment, is that they made Batman look completely helpless in this statue. I really wish they would have just made it more neutral- Unlike Sub vs Scorpion, there's 50+ years of history behind these characters, and some folks (Like myself) happen to care quite a bit about some of them. DK for lyfe.
Just like they did for mkvsdc? Superman is weakened by magic. MAGIC! Hector already gave the best answer to the whole "how to balance superman" question: Its a video game.

See "SuperMan/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam"

One of Supe's weaknesses 'is' magic. Nothing new here.

DC isn't perfect, for sure. There's a good number of writers for these comics... I'm definitely not going to argue against that- But me and the Bats are going to spend plenty of time in the lab of Kombat Houston, so we can lay the whole "XXX vs Batman" arguments to rest in the tournament scene. ;)

I'm betting Robin is in, but only as an alt for Nightwing in the game. It still nets him face time in the comic though. Why do I say this? Two reasons.

ONE: The biggest reason is that Nightwing has a staff which makes no sense since Nightwing never had one as part of his character, but Robin did. Nightwing used to be Robin so as kind of a catch 22 to get Tim Drake in as well since he's super popular and as a way to have BOTH Nightwing and Robin he has two stances to play in and one is Nightwing sticks and the other is more like Robin's staff style. A great little way to include 2 of the biggest fan favorites from Batman without using up more than one slot.

TWO: Green. Lantern. We all pretty much know that Green Lantern has been on a hot streak for awhile with fans of DC comics and as such each Lantern's fans are more vocal than ever. There is NO way to put in all these lanterns without overbalancing the roster or running into possible redundancy in some of their basic playstyles. The most obvious answer is alternate outfits for a single Green Lantern that reskins him as another Lantern for the fans. Alternate outfits like this would be a really popular way to accomodate his fans and I'm betting it gets done given the talk about "a lot of outfits and fan favorite looks" that NRS kept mentioning early on. If it makes sense for GL and Nightwing is sporting moves and weapons he NEVER had then it makes sense that Robin is an intended alt for Nightwing.

Manhunter though is likely out of the three the only hard confirm for someone taking up a slot with no alt character sharing it with him. GL is likely the main Earth core team of Lanterns and Robin is likely a Nightwing alt given his moveset oddities IMO.

Thats my two cents on the matter.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how mad do you think people would be if they used Baz and no one else as the GL character.

Lol, I wouldn't mind his inclusion in the game...I'd be REALLY interested in Simon's role in everything... But I doubt he'd be the ONLY GL in the game if that's the case. Otherwise, it'd be a resounding 10 haha. He is far too new to be the sole representative of the GLs. They'd pretty much have to put in Hal or John Stewart to keep the masses happy.

They could even use Green Lantern for skins of some of his supporting characters in other Lantern Corps. Atrocitus, Sinestro and Star Sapphire are possible to have their own character slot but if one of them does, the others could be lumped in as a skin. Add Larfleeze, Saint Walker, Indigo-1. You've got the Seven Lantern Corps all lined up without wasting character slots

Yeah I'm thinking any alts that change gender or body type too much wouldn't be smart to do.

The body language would either look too masculine in the case of female ats or in the case of say someone wanting atrocitus or larfleeze as GL alts they would be far to human to look correct for selling the body language of such characters. I know the GL fans are wanting a lot of alts, but those as alts would be a nightmare and would behave really improperly using the same rigging and animation cycles as their humanoid counterparts and thats not saying anything about hitbox size changing due to alts. Trust me from my time in Maya and 3DS max with rigs you DO NOT want to try and reuse rigs and animations for something with such a drastically different body type.

You'd essentially not be doing an alt anymore and would have to program an entirely new character and thats really missing the point of alt skins being an easy way to do things.

At that point just make them a new slot or don't bother at all.

Batman is a tool. i seriously cannot stand that character. Batman Beyond however, a character with some angst, now thats a character i can follow. if hes in, thats my main, if not i really dont like any other DC hero, at fucking all, so ill just play whoever fits my style best. however i wont play as batman or superman because i truly hate them. they are the blandest characters ever.

and the whole thing that hurr durr batman can beat everyone is fucking retarded. if superman wants to punch some NORMAL DUDE WITH MONEY so hard that his body explodes, then batman is fucking dead. i dont give a fuck about his plans or his preparations. dude is faster than you, and if hes turning its not like hes gonna call you up first to let you know. hes gonna fly to your fucking batcave while your sleeping and beat the shit out of you. in front of your stupid fucking butler, and there isnt shit you can do about it

Talking about superhero fights like they are about proving who is more powerful is really missing the point. Its about selling action or exciting story and you don't get that by one shotting. You get that by writing buildup and by drawing action and by showing underdogs pull some tricky stuff to become threats.

Its cool you don't like Bats and I agree that for the most part Superman tends to drone a bit too much for me to read very often, but Batman is about the angstiest guy in existence. You don't have to play him, but cmon that guy is stone cold angst as part of his character.

Best explanation for how anyone in this game can fight Superman is still "its a GAME" in my opinion. Stop worrying about physics and just enjoy a cool looking fan tribute to all the fights folks have bought comics for over the decades. I want The Ray like mad, but because visually I love his theme and because I am a fan of the type of powerset he has. In otherwords he's a concept I dig. However, I also Dig Green Arrow and he is about as weak as it comes in this lineup in terms of power. Here's hoping he gets in so I can play as the ultimate underdog.

EDIT: For the record my comment still stands...if Green Arrow makes it in I will be dressing as him and posting myself doing the Bernie as Green Arrow on the boards to express my hype.

Easy for you to say, Wonder Woman of Injustice.

Sorry man. I'm not going to participate in a discussion if you're just going to cop out and say bad writing every time a scenario is brought up where Batman can take on a super-powered form. I could care less about anything you say at this point if you're just talking mess on Batman. I've been in thousands of long drawn out discussions in regards to this, I'm not about to jump into another one on TYM. So in summary, some folks happen to enjoy and care about the storylines written in DC Comics. Moving on...

It's funny that Plastic Man was brought up again... 99% sure he's going to make it into the game.
If Plastic Man is in this game, I will probably try to main him (Also Sinestro).

suggesting ive been raped? thats a bit over the line. since when do i have to like characters that are so cookie cutter "hero?" i cant relate to these douche bags, so i dont like them. no part of them reminds me of myself, they are far to heroic and selfless and its pretty fucking generic. at least marvel characters have more human characteristics and less "hurr durr im a hero i save people i care nothing of myself im clearly fictional"

i dont read comics. at all. but one doesnt have to have read a batman or superman comic to form an opinion about them, since they are found in all sorts of media outside of comics. Superman is generic. batman is generic. copy pasted heroes. batman just saves people, bottom line. that to me is boring.

Superman and Batman were among the first superheroes to be created (barring proto-superheroes before that). If you find them boring then whatever, you're not wrong. I find it difficult to see where you're getting the "copy-pasted heroes" idea from.

If you haven't even attempted to read something that involves them and instead just go based off of other media then you're just being uneducated.

lol i forgot that in order to relate you have to have lived the same exact life as them. my bad. and Batman is more than just a comic book hero. hes grown bigger than that. DC supports and licenses out there heroes to other mediums, and they are 100% behind the way their characters are portrayed. based on the IMMENSE ammount of material ive seen on batman without having to read a comic about him i already know im not a fan of him, so why the fuck would i even bother to dig any deeper and go waste my time reading comics so i can learn more about someone i already dont like. DC chose to show Batman in the light that hes been shown in in other mediums, i trust that its an accurate portrayal of how the character indeed is, i dont need to go flesh batman out any further and see what really makes him tick. ive seen enough and i dont fucking care about boring ass batman. if im wrong about batman being cookie cutter than its DCs fault for showing movie after movie and cartoon after cartoon of batman being cookie cutter.

Yeah man, we need SuperHEROS that don't save people. What a bunch of bullshit. They act like they're heros or something.
