MKvsDC days there was a lot of issues with copyrights for the majority of the game development, so while it was being created they called him Shazam till like the last stages of development.

assuming you dont know about the new 52 this this is how he looks now nd its pretty sweet i hope we get classic alt too tho. btw DC has officially stated captain marvel will no longer go by that & shall be adressed as Shazam due to copyright reasons with Marvel.
I will never understand that. Cap has been around 20+ years before Marvel was even a company and yet he has to accommodate for them?
You can't argue the legality of something. It's just the way it is. If you've murdered someone, and there's no solid evidence you're not guilty, vice versa. It's just the way things work.

That is not a good comparison at all. Captain Marvel was created in the 40's. His copyright was in the 40's. Why should he have to change his name because Marvel made their own Captain Marvel in the late 60's and doesn't want anyone else to have the name.
Because DC didn't own the copyright in the 40s. While DC was busy suing Fawcett comics into oblivion (because they viewed Captain Marvel as a huge rip of Superman), Marvel's Captain Marvel came along and took the name. When DC finally took a hold of Fawcett's properties it was too late.
