Overall I enjoy all the Terminator movies, my least liked was probably Salvation though that's not to say I didn't enjoy it I just hoped to see more Arnold t800 going on but anyway. I always saw Terminator franchise as different sub genre with some of their movies.

While it's of course sci fi action I always saw them as

The Terminator:Horror Action
T2:Judgement Day-Sci Fi
T3:Rise of the Machines-Action Sci fi with a touch of horror aspects to it
T4:Salvation: Sci-Fi suspense
T5:Genisys: Sci Fi
T6: Dark Fate Looks like a mix of Suspense with Sci Fi and Action

Well Marcus definitely isn't coming lol. I think they are trying to pretend Salvation never existed (despite it being the best post-2 movie).
But hell, he wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Yeah, Cameron said on the record to him this is the "real T3" as if Rise of the Machines, Salvation and Genisys never happened. He said those could be a different timeline from his. lol There's like little nods to the other movies with this new one. lol
