In MKX if you want to be the "best" you're going to need more than one character. Being able to adapt to any character on screen to acquire any advantage is huge in a FT3 or EVO's FT2.

Only way you can really do the one true main thing, is if we get another Day 1 Kobu Tanya incident where the character is just too good. Maybe thats my experience in MOBAs talking but walking into a hard counter can really be bad.

This is pretty much an MKX specific issue because MKX dirt is a lot more filthy than the average fighter in terms of "Overheads, Lows, Lowverheads, hardtoblockables, high damage and we havent even mentioned the 50/50s." Coupling with theres no EXTREMELY hard to learn character to pick up in MKX.

Learning one character makes you predictable, you can learn their patterns, and it makes it easier to fight with each subsequent tournament encounter.

If time and space were an anomaly, it would be like going from locals to nationals all over again - except exponentially.

My point is that the current best is driving the current mindset. If the current best were a loyalist, everyone would be saying that playing one character and learning all the ins and outs of that character is the way to go.

The best way for Sonic Fox isn't necessarily the best way just because he is the best.

We can all agree upon this. Sonic Fox is the best and he has found the best way for him to be his best.

Takeda has shit for armor and Jason's d+1 means he doesn't have to put up with his crap. Maybe it still sucks in Ronin, but Shirai Ryu is fucked the first time Jason blocks a Kunai mixup.
by kunai mixup are you talking the hard to blockable or normal f122+4 pressure with kunai's. and why exactly is takeda fucked once jason blocks that?

Im just saying that MKX is a different beast from your traditional 1v1 fighter. With the abundance of Overheads, lows, lowverheads, crazy plus pressure and how fast MKX sets can go, being a character loyalist is a much tougher outing in this game than most others. Especially if you are in a losing MU against any top ten variation even with a top ten one of your own.

While sonic is a dominant player no matter the circumstance or game i think his pure dominance at all yhese majors is attributed to his ability to adapt.

Most other are usually more balanced with much less hard to blockable stuff which allows for characters to have more solid and whole cast wide gameplans which attributes to character loyalist Success.

Having backup characters always helps. Sticking to one character does nothing but hinder you imo.

Especially in NRS games where you can learn a character very quickly and have most of the options/combos down with a little practice.

Players have had success both ways.

Fast learners are probably better suited to learning a few characters, but not everyone who aspires to be the greatest is a fast learner.

The reason you lean this way is because longevity in NRS games isn't as much of a deciding factor. Character specific skills don't transfer.
