PLEASE change the damage back to percentage....at least for competitive play, the damage is so ambiguous to me

Atrocitus shouldnt have a far reaching string with two mixups in it, thats just stupid.

im not mad at Superman players for only doing f23 breath but im mad at NRS for not even attempting to design him, they didnt give him anything else to work with. there are minor tweaks but he has nothing new and useful. the only noticeable change to him is his low scoop. other than that he looks exactly like INJ1 Superman. and his trait loaded way too fast, so he ALWAYS could break armor. MB B3 overall is pretty useless in the beta except for against atrocituis maybe.

the knee jerk nerfs to Supergirl bother me too because it seems like they still are listening to complaints about things that arent that bad. She had some very dirty tools but everyone in the beta did and she was the only one to have hers removed. not to mention she does half the damage of every other character in the beta. hopefully they actually just test things better before they release them or give us time before nerfing something that isnt that bad while leaving other broken things in.

They gave superman a new move as well that nobody seems to use. MB leads to a full combo as well. Seems to have decent range. It actually might be good. They also Made Dash punch a mid instead of a high which is pretty big IMO.

The "Nerfs" To supergirl you mention where a lot of frame fixes in the menu. IE they where like that already but they fixed the data. Also its a beta. This could be a build from like 6 months ago we are playing. We won't know until the game comes out. She stilll gets more damage than Blue Bettle. Who actually gets shit damage without Back ground bounce or Bounce cancel from what i can tell. You act like this "Nerf" Is going to the 100% final build. We don't know if it will or not. Even though the nerfs where just data fixes for the most part. And the corspe hop removal.
 
Can someone explain how the gear system will work in inj2? Also not being able to use gears in tournaments kinda tells me something's might be broken.

(Assuming it works the way it does now, which is kind of shitty) Both players have to bring up a menu and agree to competitive mode during character select. At that point gear buffs and extra moves just cease to exist.

I think the only technical issue I encountered was the input shortcuts option not working, but I believe this was already confirmed to not be working in the beta and would be fixed before release. Everything else is subjective, but...

I think from the clip we've gotten of the game, what made a character great in IGAU will largely remain the same in I2. Stages are still very long and mobility is still pretty poor, so I would imagine characters that are able to control the screen and force movement, much like in IGAU, will be the best characters. For example, despite her litany of mixup moves and high damage, I do not think Black Canary will be a strong character.

Having said that, matchups are a part of a game's life, and I thought IGAU was a very good game with a few balance exceptions, which are an easy fix. If Black Canary is an example of a character who will struggle greatly in matchups, then mission accomplished, she seems suited for the purpose of killing you if she can get past her struggles. That is what design should aspire to.

I love the gear system visually, and I think it's a great addition for the game. Everyone loves a good collectible, and I was glad to see that you get gear even if you lose and you can equip it right there in the game screen. One of my worries was that it would be too bothersome to try and see all the gear you got and not remember if it was better than what you had, but that system being built in is a great way around it. Really neat mode that will be fun to dig into on the side.

Online was great for me, felt like MKXL which I already believed to be up there with the best online fighter netcodes. Some slowdown toward the end of the beta, but that's what this was for anyways, so I will just hopefully assume it's an issue they found and will rectify.

That's about it for me. I really enjoyed what I played, and I was glad to see that the new characters all seemed fun and great additions to characters like Batman and Superman. I will always wish they would decrease stage length and maybe make forward dashes not as weak, but I really do not think that will change, so there's no point kvetching about it.

Also air teching seemed so inconsistent, the amount of times I've lost games over it not working and been salty as fuck is ridiculous.
Same here, they said you could air tech on the spot by pressing down+MB, or backwards by pressing away+MB, but I've never been able to air tech on the spot so I would just do away+MB, and even then it wouldn't come out many times I wanted it to

Superman has some sort of grab attack now. Idk what its called.
You can still pressure with it from what i have seen.
Its just a coincidence a lot of the time.
Then why complain if you aren't even going to use her?
They nerfed Supermans, OTG dive bomb. Its no where near the same thing. Not even close.

Inj2 pushblock is like block first hit then hold forward and press meterburn button. It's really wonky feeling.

I know it was only 6 characters for a short time but that's a good chunk that will be more balanced by start of the game

Even things such as changing the timer from 90 - 99 so we don't hear everybody complain about time outs on day 1

I'm not sure I'm sold on how to pushblock in this game

You can argue it's an extra execution layer so it's adds more depth, but you can also argue for the purpose of the action it doesn't necessarily need to be harder to do and turns to be more of an annoyance.

Btw I'm talking about pressing Firward R2 this time to pushblock

Inj2 pushblock is like block first hit then hold forward and press meterburn button. It's really wonky feeling.
The input is similar to V-Reversal in SFV. I think once people really get accustomed to it, it'll be second nature. Not against the old input at all, cuz that worked too. They might just not want people sitting on block and mashing MB to nullify defense.

Okay stop wtih this SF5 does something similar crap. SF5 also has fucking auto block. Inj2 doesn't

Input buffer is frustrating. But I like the game and most of the characters so far. I like the new Batman and Superman for the most part. Atrocitus and Supergirl are really cool additions, I'm excited to see what players will do with them. I'm not totally sold on Blue Beetle yet but he's alright. I think it's really cool that Black Canary is in the game I just don't like playing her or against her.

So if one player doesn't like the gear mode he's fucked because both have to choose competitive mode to not use them? Looks akward since tournaments will make you play competitive mode only correct? I've never played destiny but my question regarding gears is what it actually is? How do you get them? Do you keep them on your game? Etc.
