I2 Beta: What Are Your Thoughts?

I had a lot of fun with the beta myself, the netcode just needs to be adjusted a bit and the buffer window needs to be toned down. I mostly just played Supergirl and I got DP so many times while trying to just db1 because of the buffer, at the same time I'm still not allowed to special cancel or grab cancel late in a string? I really hope this gets changed, I'd like to be able to visually confirm before I commit.

Competitive mode being optional on both sides wasn't too great either, but I'm glad this will already addressed.

Only thing I was truly sad about was no Harley in the beta to try her new trait.

I have not played it but it does seem slow compared to MKX from YouTube. Is that good? I have no doubt it will be competitive... but should it also grab non players to jump into the game.
 
I wasn't able to get a beta code so my opinion is kind of useless. But from a spectators perspective, the game seems a bit slow. The animations are more fluid than Injustice 1, but since NRS slowed everything down characters movements are still noticeably stiff. I think if they sped them up a little, the rigidness would be less obvious and the game play would be a bit more exciting.

There's no reason the clock should be so small, especially with how frequent timeouts occur. Make it bigger.

A little disappointed on how much NRS copied and pasted UI elements from MKX. They say they want MKX and IJ2 to look and feel like completely different games, but that's not helping that aspiration.

I have mixed emotions about some of the stages darkness. But players haven't complained so I guess it's not a big deal and adds to the cinematic appeal.

Outside of those things, everything looks great. Can't wait to play Swamp Thing.

I don't really find it slower than MKX. I enjoy MKX, but it rewards the rushdown/non-stop buttons play style. With Injustice, lack of run button, means you can't exactly just rush in whenever you need to. Also, with the return of zoning, and all sorts of different movement options, you really have to play a lot more patiently and cautiously in this game imo.

Superman has some sort of grab attack now. Idk what its called.
You can still pressure with it from what i have seen.
Its just a coincidence a lot of the time.
Then why complain if you aren't even going to use her?
They nerfed Supermans, OTG dive bomb. Its no where near the same thing. Not even close.
oh his b2, i didnt know that could be meter burned because nobody uses it lol.
its the mindset that bothers me, she wasnt even the best in the beta but got nerfed the hardest because of complaints.
his OTG divebomb shouldnt exist not just be nerfed and i cant tell the difference tbh. with his damage he can literally take 90% of your health for 1 bar if he hits you once then you have to guess on an otg overhead that might cross up. that shit is just dumb.
he's also brain dead and i still believe no character should be brain dead and top tier. it should take at least some skill. i know green lantern was dumb easy to play in the first game but he was low mid tier

If i had a choice between electrical character i would have chosen Shazam and not BA..i don't like BA.. But since there are greek characters(only 1 character now in inj2) in the game, i'm into her(WW)!!
PS: i never played Blanka...and i never will.... NEVER!!!
Hahaha aww come on Blanka ain't too bad, give him a chance ;)
Nah WW is cool, Ares in IGAU was cooler, would be good to see him in it again

My only real complaint is that it's the worst UI in any modern fighting game. Damage accurate to 2 decimal places and grey over red with florescent yellow health bars. So much ew.

Everything else is goat fg ;).
 
aside from slight adjustments to Black Canary's ultimate move I'm pretty alright with everything so far

maybe lighting should be higher on some stages but yeah

I completely disagree. After going back to Injustice 1 after this beta, THAT is one outdated in-game UI. The constant flashes on the health bar and combo counters are super annoying, and the round super meter bar display was too much.

Then I went to MKX to remind myself of thar one, and it was a huge step up. Night and day difference.

Injustice 2 looks very clean and modern. They took MKX's engine and improved on it in every way. I didn't like the health bars initially, but now they're my favorite. Still modern yet with a slight comic style to them. And I like how the bar flashes when taking damage. It's much more subtle but still easy to see. Especially when watching a mirror match and you lose track of who's who.

The damage numbers... you'll just have to get over that. Percentage would cause too many issues. You'll notice that SFV doesn't give percentages (or any damage at all) and it works just fine.
