I agree about Skarlet's longer hair look, NRS said they didn't even show nearly everything at the event reveal so I'm excited. I think she'll have her MK 9 look or something similar to it.

I've noticed NRS of late has this trend of short hair, tight braided hair or no hair at all on the female characters.

Jacqui-short cornrow, tomboy UFC style haircut

D'Vorah- Bald in MK X(though in MK 11 she has a few dreads it appears) She's not human so I can get this one.

Cassie-Short hair with buzzed sides

Skarlet-Catwoman hairstyle

Ferra-We have no idea what her hair looks like(probably not long from her look though) wears a helmet

The argument that the female characters should look more "realistic" is not valid. There are a plethora of women with slim bodies and big breasts in the real world, they aren't all A cupped.
@TheSpore I don't think MK is going full SJW, but there are glimpses. Of one thing I'm certain though - if MK goes full SJW, I'll drop it. It's annoying and it's not my taste.

Isn't that level of porn-y tits-out design more garish than sexy? Personally speaking I'm much more turned on by a hot guy in a cool form-fitting outfit than a hot guy in a thong.

MK11 Skarlet has a more ornate, elaborate sex appeal. There's some subtlety and mystery to it, instead of 'here is literally every inch of my naked body'. But it's still sexy -- she's wearing a skintight catsuit and has cleavage windows. And she still looks more like a supermodel than a martial artist. Surely this is an improvement.

People confuse sexy with hot. MK9 Skarlet is clearly hotter, but not as sexy since she has no character whatsoever. If she had good dialogue in MK9 she would easily be a winner in my book. MK11 Skarlet has personality, but looks like a 14 year old boy wearing make-up. Judge me. Also, why are you talking about female sexiness when you're clearly attracted to men?

In the DoA story, the females are at least equal but often more powerful fighters than males and they all have their own personalities, too. Curiousu when you say "logical clothing" what do you mean? Their designs in previous MK's aren't any less logical than the ones now, it's really all about their personality. Skarlet for example while sure she's showing a lot more skin in MK 9 vs. MK 11, her thigh straps are practical as they also serve as holders for her knives that she throws at you. Mileena, it's perfect I mean come on. She just screams sex freak lol. Kitana honestly always looks the same but updated bikini like ninja outfit. Sonya literally has the same hat, military attire in like every game the main difference is her boobs. MK vs DCU she had a shirt but somewhat see through, MK 9 she had a sexy vest showing some cleavage. MK X she seemed pretty covered. Her tech for the most part is on her wrists for communication and weapons.

To be honest I really like the designs now, it makes the character have some personality. I especially love Skarlet's new look except the goggles and the short hair, but it doesnt make any sense. She gets stronger when she gets blood sprayed on her, right? Why would you cover her up? That's the only question I have to be honest. I dont think NRS' is purposely covering the female characters, it just happens because of designs that make the character have more personality.

Also, you can totally show skin and have character. Shinbi from Paragon is a big example of that. For those who are not familiar, she's a korean pop idol, but she fights on the battlefield. She dresses pretty "slutty" , but hey, thats how korean pop idols dress. So it makes sense.

It’s not really a term used where I am, but from what I can tell what’s currently labelled SJW, is simply called “progress” by much of the world, and I can’t say I’m a fan of the rebrand tbh. Sounds like marketing warfare from dwindling status quos with a cross to bear...

As with everything; there’s room for (almost) everyone, but only if everyone makes room.

If you think they “removed sexiness” from Inj2 or MKX (particularly relative to mk9’s bikini machos lol) you are not making room.
