No because it's not even a mixup if the opponent knows how the move works. Block first 2 hits low, block potential third hit standing. The HKD is abysmal too with extremely small advantage, and it wastes a bar.

I've used it on rare occasions when I see people stand-blocking the entire spin move because it reminds them to respect the low, which can open up the overhead again. However, against players with a better understanding of the game, Mikman is right - it's really got no place in your arsenal. Stash it with b1d3 and Anti-Air Machine Gun in the "please patch these moves out so I don't accidentally use them" category.

I actually like the buffs. Increased damage was absolutely necessary. I was just looking for a HM MB buff, but AT buff actually helps a lot.

I need to see how significant the range buff is on HM. If its closer to B2 range, we will have a pretty good 50/50 from mid range. Lets just hope they fixed the b2 jumping over duckers thing.

Pop up on b23 is alright, but its probably still unsafe. It could be decent for catching people jumping around mid-long range.

Overall, buffs are nice, but I dont know if they will be enough to deal with his worst matchups: Batgirl, BA, and Superman. Hopefully those characters get a little nerf in the patch.

This isn't going to be as in depth as you probably want, but a couple tips:

Respect the overheads, block standing more.
Pick Watchtower. Nightwing cant hit you with ground blasts if you're grabbing one of the air drones, and he can't even reach them himself in staff mode. Seriously, this stage is crucial.
D2 on reaction to any Flying Graysons used in the neutral game. Follow up with a combo.
Dont challenge him at a range in staff mode

Deathstroke can zone Nightwing.

This matchup boils down to you - making the right reads at the right time.

The escrima spark counter zoning only works if you aren't being liberal with low guns. Fuck it. Nuetral jump the spark. Low guns away.

If Nightwing is ever caught in staff stance at full screen, pummel him with low guns. Even if you're trading - keep pummeling. Eventually Nightwing will eat too much chip, and will need to get back to escrima. Be ready to punish the stance change with MB low guns.

You can d2 every flying grayson attempt. Or you can high guns. Whatever you want. Both work just fine.

Nightwing is free on wakeup to j3. Just do it.

j3 a lot. Nightwing's d2 is shit, his wakeups are shit(flip kick included), his only shot at stopping j3? Countering with Staff j2. When Nightwing is in staff stance - push block him and then IMMEDIATELY MB high guns. This will stuff any Flying Grayson attempt at getting back in. And put him at full screen where you can pummel with low guns. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO PUSH BLOCK STAFF OVER AND OVER. What the fuck is Nightwing going to do to get back in? Flying Grayson is a gimmick. Do not be afraid of it.

For all the setups Nightwing has, Deathstroke has a wakeup option for them. Sword Spin works effectively for all of them. Sword Flip to stuff raw jump ins, otherwise, be liberal with the sword spins - just look out for wingdings to stuff sword flip and sword spin. The fact that Deathstroke can rape Nightwing on wakeup, whereas Nightwing has little to answer for Deathstroke's wakeups - only further puts this MU in DS's favor.

Speaking of Wingdings. Don't get impatient if you're cornered by Nightwing. Often times I take advantage of Deathstroke players who panic when I put them in the corner with wingdings. Just block. Be patient. Look for the unsafe wingdings. If he doesn't meter burn them - you're in. If that means eating the chip - so be it. Don't try and sword flip your way out. I use Wingdings to keep zoners with great wakeups like Deathstroke and Cyborg pinned in the corner. Both characters struggle to deal with wingdings at the proper spacing - patience is what matters here. They're not nearly as safe as they seem, but waking up is NOT the answer.

nj3 beats nearly all of Nightwing's wakeup options in both stances.

So I've encountered my only problem so far with DS: I can't get 12 to come out after 323. I managed it a few times but its so weird because you have to hit 1 even while DS is still completing the animation for 3. How do you guys time it?

I need to learn it since I'm not getting enough damage out of punishing with 123.

F23, not 12. Makes it a lot easier. Start combo right as DS returns sword to his back.

If you want do end with 12 xx Flip, do a 1 before the 323. Otherwise, use F23, it's got a bigger vertical hitbox and comes out 1 frame faster.

Nightwing can out zone deathstroke easily. Even when deathstroke blocks his meter batrang and lighting attacks does more chip damage then Low guns. His air batrangs nulffy deathstroke upward gun shot.

1. I want to use F3 much more. Say I land it on block, do I have enough frame advantage to use sword spin, for example, or should I stop pushing buttons?

2. After landing F3 on hit, is the ideal follow-up 323 - 23xx flip?

1. Yes you can spin. Question is, why would you want to when you can B1 or B2 for free?
