This is fucking nonsense. By and large pc gaming stronger than its ever been. Yeah every year there are a couple of shitty ports, but if you're not a day 1 guy (which is more often than not a terrible idea even on consoles) you can largely avoid that. There are PLENTY of AAA ports that not only match, but are far superior to their console counter parts.

The fallout and skyrim series are universally considered better with far more expansive mod support. The Far Cry series has always looked better and run smoother on PC. Witcher and MGS again, better on PC. A few shit ports doesn't make the platform as a whole a bad place to game.

With that out of the way, its gonna suck if they abandon mkx and it will be the last time I support nrs. I'd say wb but I'm pretty sure they had shadow of mordor as well and that was an excellent port.

Nah PC gaming is dead dude. Just gotta face facts...You can't be a l337 h@x0r on PC anymore.

Poopbutt.
Going to try to be brutally honest here with sounding the least bit tattered in my booty.

I spent $80 on this game on Steam + a few costumes here and there. This does not entitle me to continued support, as there are much more things going through their mind than some Midwestern dipshit's PC experience. Does it make me want to avoid NRS games in the future because of how the PC port was treated in the past 8 months? Absolutely. If it is actually true that the PC version is straight up not getting KP2 or access to the GGPO version of the netcode then that's one of the most egregious slaps in the face I've ever been dealt by a developer. I can take bad optimization, delayed patches, thousands of glitches, and the like. I cannot seriously take discontinued support lying down when the consoles are still being updated. Even if they brought it all to PC in a new package a half year down the road for the Ultimate that's too insulting.

So hey, I'm still holding out hope here. I'm on the side of NRS. But man I can only hold out so long.

I just got a XIM4 myself like 2 weeks ago.
\

Does Xim4 let you use a headset that plugs into a controller. Just asking because I got a cronus to use my sticks on ps4 and xbone and it also has k&m support. But it does not support plug in mics. And if I can't talk to people might as well just get it on pc.

I believe it does on xbone but I've only used it on ps4. It does not on ps4, I use a steelseries usb sound card that came with one of my headsets, and that works great. Not sure if there are better or cheaper ones but mine is like ~35 USD on amazon

Tell that to the MOBA (million dollar tournaments), RTS, and MMORPG markets. Good luck
There's like one company that does good RTS games, definitely nothing like it was, say, in 1994 when everyone and their mom were trying to get a piece of RTS cake. MMORPG are also past its glory days, I believe - they still appeal to certain type of gamers, but they don't evolve anymore even at the pace of other genres, I feel it's dead end at this point. "MOBA" is the only thing going for PC platform currently, I'm afraid, and I'll leave it at that.
There are also very niche markets like flight sims, but they are so tiny I'm genuinely surprised they exist at all, but then again, how many of them are being supported right now besides DCS? Like zero?

PC FGs haven't seen better days, I can agree, but let's see. WB/NRS were ones that you can sell FGs on PC, yet they are coping out right now (possibly).

Arcsys consistently deliver their stuff to Steam, but they do so with 2 year lag. Xrd was their first game they ported to PC before it was hopelessly obsolete, but it still wasn't the latest instalment at that point. Seeing how people who tried Xrd are either dropping it or fleeing to consoles doesn't paint bright future.

Team Ninja dropped PC support even before they finished the game (their shitty policy of selling a fucking skin pack for 3 times a price of a game itself, unfinished at that, doesn't work with the hardest platform to police, who could've guessed?).

Upcoming KI release is only there as a push towards Win10 (which I am not installing on the system that has anything of value in its memory, in fact anything at all besides KI; fuck you Microsoft and your glorified piece of malware) just like how its initial release was supposed to sell Xbox One. They don't care otherwise, but thankfully at least IG do.

Amazingly, this leaves us with SFV.

We'll see, but I'm afraid the FG fad ends here just like it started, abruptly.

But hey, on the bright side, we have all that turd written by schoolkids in their free time amazing indie market!

Thats also not true, last 2-3 patches, characters were on PC within a week, some within a day.
Fair enough, but most early releases came WAY too late, with two patches basically being released at the same time, over a month later.

The thing is, I want to be really mad about the fact that PC is most likely being dropped. I want to be furious about it, but I'm not. I'm one of those people that bought this game and KP1 on PC and have spent a lot of time playing the game but if the people who are actually responsible for the PC port aren't employed by NRS anymore and if it isn't a good deal for NRS financially to make KP2 and the EO available on PC because of the small community I can't really fault them for that.

It sucks. It definitely does suck, especially for those people like me who have dropped a boatload of cash on this game and enjoy it and then are told that the only way to continue playing this game in an improved state is to go out and buy a console, the game, and the DLC again. Honestly at some point I probably will, but not any time soon.

It might be a cliche to say it but in reality I'm not mad, just disappointed.

Online PC community being small is their fault in the 1st place, So that's not an excuse for them to slip the shaft. Besides, decisions like this should not be taken solely over online play statistics. There are thousands of players all over the world who play this game competitively offline, And under no circumstances should they get scammed for the lack of online players.

Yeah that may be the case but I don't know that NRS is directly responsible for the PC version, I think that was High Voltages's gig and apparently they aren't working together anymore. (that's just what I've heard though.)

if you cant support your game on PC why release it in first place. UNACCEPTABLE
Things change dude, sometimes development on certain platforms becomes unsustainable, unfortunately it can often be the result of a crap launch or long periods between patching i.e. the developers fault for leaving the game so long that people lose interest. It's the same thing with the PS3 and 360 versions we were promised.

Fact of the matter is that NRS and WB are business' and they have to make decisions that are good for the company unfortunately. I don't wanna seem like I'm being a downer on the PC crowd, like I said I play this on PC and I really want all the cool new stuff they're bringing out but I can also understand from a business and technical standpoint that it just might not be feasable.

Make decisions that are good for the company, huh?

And what about reputation? How will PC gamers feel about buying their next game(especially with this new feature on Steam that allows you to get your money back if you're not satisfied with the game quality)? What will they tell their friends who ask if this new Injustice 2/MK 11 game is worth buying? How will this impact online scores, reviews, overall opinion on this game, games to come, the company itself? And even among console players at least someone would think logically: "if they treat one platform like this, they might treat others the same way".

If you think about it from this perspective, it doesn't look that good for the business, does it?

Yeah I mean their reputation and favor with the community will take a hit but most companies are very willing to do that instead of losing money by developing something they can't be sure will make a profit. Sure, a lot of people might not buy their next game and they may tell their friends not to, but the majority of people who say things like "I'll never give x developer or y company money again" won't follow through on that claim. Also PC gamers have been getting snubbed on content and games for years so it's not like this is unheard of. Another point to this is, it's only the PC community getting screwed, like we've said it's relatively small compared to consoles, so the impact won't be as great in that regard either.

Long story short they are picking the lesser of two bad outcomes for their business. You don't keep your company alive and making games by throwing away money on things that won't turn a profit.

That is implying that they intend to make PC ports of those after cancelling MKX support. But if it's cancelled because it doesn't pay off, they probably think their future games won't pay off as well.

I can see the frustration and anger towards NRS for the silence and can understand how, for some, it's the only platform of choice for MKX. Whether it be out of choice or circumstantial differences.

I''am a massive PC user, as much as a console user too and to be fair, PC players should be entailed to the slice of the pie like anyone else and not be left in the dark. I don't know if it's down to MKX being out sourced to an external developer from the beginning, which might explain the current issues.

Anyway, hope you guys get some sort of answer or closure on the matter.

Peace Out!

You shouldn't be buying fighters on PC anyway. Sorry your market is niche, you can say business your ass but tough decisions must be made, not to mention nothing has even been said about continued support, so wait till a statement is made and enjoy this run on sentence
