The command grab is kinda bad though isn't it? If a Goki is low on health, just don't attack, or if you do make sure it will kill them through the armor. I mean, I can easily cmd grab noobs but against good players it's kinda useless.Shugoki is too dirty. I actually don't mind being low health because I have the opportunity for an instant kill command grab. Added to the fact that my light attack chains on block AND my headbutt chains off of any hit...I'm right at home. I have a setup that gains crazy revenge (or whatever that's called) on blocked attacks and damage taken, so I have no need to parry.
Downside is that I have no need to parry. If I do, I'm too fat to capitalize on it. I don't even think I can follow up with a light punish but I need to test more. I only look to parry unblockable attacks (Raider, Kensei, etc.) because I'm too fat to roll or dash away. The true definition of a tank.
I like sitting on a flag and taunt cancelling, daring a group to step in my territory.
Honestly, in 4v4's at least, I'd more use the cmd grab as a surprise attack then anything. Haven't tested how good it is after his headbutt since I still can't proc that consistently. The command grab is kinda bad though isn't it? Just my early impressions of the cmd grab. Other than that Goki is great. Also the cmd grab might be good in 4v4.
Its useful when you are getting ganked so you can just focus on guard breaking. If they back off, let it go to save stamina.zone attacks? really? i honestly never press that button one on one.
picked the girl with twin axes but everyone keeps saying she's ass
also how free is the guard stance where they block everywhere.
I wouldn't say useless. Here's a few scenarios: you land headbutt, charge your heavy, cancel it and command grab; you sniff out an unblockable or better yet react to one and command grab (I have one hit of armor on everything); have someone in the corner, command grab (unfair width on the hit box of that grab honestly); guard break, heavy (leads to knockdown), oki command grab depending upon location obviously. The command grab is kinda bad though isn't it? Great plays! I wish all of the assassin people played like you. The light attack button mashing that is promoted from the fast recovery of assassin characters needs to be addressed. As an assassin, how would you feel about being punished more for being guard break countered or parried? For example, my parry and guard break counters lead to nothing as Shugoki because the attacks of assassin characters are so fast. Therefore, I would suggest a weight system if you will. If Shugoki successfully parries or guard break counters an assassin, the assassin should be vulnerable for longer than, say, against another assassin. Any thoughts from you? Or anyone else for that matter. To whoever said peacekeeper was weak. (I dont remember who)
Also includes some highlights against @GAV
Dude I don't know shit, lol. I was genuinely asking because from my exp and what I heard his cmd grab isn't great. Honestly I've watched more of For Honor than I've played. I have a shit connection and losing because of that is the least fun thing in a video game.I wouldn't say useless. Also, I've been reading a few of your posts and realize that you rarely play the 4v4 so your points are valid in a brawl/duel. However, he shines in 1v1 and 1v2 in my opinion because of the fear of the command grab. I know that you know and all that good stuff and as soon as I touch you, I don't need to touch you again. I can sit and taunt cancel that ass until you come at me, which I want, or your friends come, which doesn't bother me because that's what he's built for. Maybe I need to take him into the smaller game types and see what's up.
Unrelated to the response, imagine what this game could be like in a competitive atmosphere. I know things need to be addressed but think about the potential. Maybe force a team to pick all from the same faction? Or at least one from each character type. It's frustrating for me because I have found a character that I enjoy but I don't get to utilize him to his full potential because nobody plays the game in a competitive, team driven manner. My job is to tank stuff, even says so when you pick the character. I let people beat on me and my team sneaks over and we wipe everyone. Maybe one day that will happen.
Wait what? Elaborate.Just saw a tournament where a guy got DQed and banned from all future tournaments hosted by the guy running it (dmbrandon) because he was Kara cancelling into zone attack. You know, the thing everyone does. The thing that's a part of plenty of FGs.
Lol. Shows you that the meta isn't known yet, so know nothings get to run tournaments.Just saw a tournament where a guy got DQed and banned from all future tournaments hosted by the guy running it (dmbrandon) because he was Kara cancelling into zone attack. Oh yeah I heard about that. I heard he was option selecting the parries with the zone attack like you mentioned earlier in the thread. I actually heard 3 different reasons now on why he got banned.Just saw a tournament where a guy got DQed and banned from all future tournaments hosted by the guy running it (dmbrandon) because he was Kara cancelling into zone attack. Ive never played as shugoki but Im pretty sure you get a free grab after parry which is fine. gb counters should not reward the counterer because they are too easy to counter. The only assassin attacks that are somewhat fast are zone attacks and light attack and you should be just blocking those.Great plays! I wish all of the assassin people played like you. what exactly is "Kara cancelling"Just saw a tournament where a guy got DQed and banned from all future tournaments hosted by the guy running it (dmbrandon) because he was Kara cancelling into zone attack. You know, the thing everyone does. The thing that's a part of plenty of FGs.
Well in other fighters that I know, you cancel the animation of a move, that goes directly into another move. Aka Kara Jabs in UMK3, Kara DP in SF4, and also Kara grab with Ken in SF4, I think there was also Kara Canceling in 3rd Strike. Like you would do a low medium kick, kara cancel into super or something like that.what exactly is "Kara cancelling"
so basically like PKs heavy cancelled into light? Why would someone get banned for that?Well in other fighters that I know, you cancel the animation of a move, that goes directly into another move. You do a move, cancel the animation by doing another attack. Usually to increase range or in UMK3's case, you cancel the jab into block so you basically can jab and it can't be punished.
Not sure how it is done in For Honor though.
Dude, I just read the explanation on why he was banned. It's the tech you just told me about with the zone attacks. Where it looks like it's coming from a certain guard and the zone attack comes out in a different guard.what exactly is "Kara cancelling"
