Based on the release schedule of previous games, and the previous interviews with Boon about the pattern i'm still thinking it's happening.

I think they're just changing up the pre-release announcements so it's not so predictable. Seeing as there was no E3 reveal, there's still plenty of discussion on TYM and other sites about it. So without doing anything people are still interested and talking about it.

There's nothing that says they have to or even should release anything at E3. If they release a trailer in 1, 2 or 3 months time it'll still be on the tip of everyone's tongue, and potentially less time to release. So i don't think that's a bad thing.

The biggest problem is that a lot of people were expecting some sort of announcement and now are unsure of what might be happening (if anything)... simply because of the past pattern.
