So as an outlaw player I feel I should learn Marksman aswell as I do quite like Erron. Messing around in the lab and watching Darth Arma play I have a few question.
1. Although rifle swing can be poked/armored through, because it's -2 can it be used to make strings like F13/B33 safe on block? And are there any non meter burned swing follow ups?
2. Is our main gameplan as opposed to rushing up and pressuring on oki setting up caltrops and zoning untill we find an opening?
3. How should my corner combos look? Having my two main combo starters being ex unload and ex/normal swing

Does anyone know what frame advantage erron black is after f13 df1 RC on block in marksmen? It's very hard to tell but I assume on block he is like -2 or neutral or something?

1. No. It's something you have to confirm into. People can interrupt into a full combo.

Standard meterless midscreen combo would be Starter xx db2, f+1,2 xx dbf2. You can replace the f+1,2 with a slight run into 211, it's a little harder but you might want to use it for corner carry into Caltrop setups... damage is generally the same otherwise

2. It's more or less the same gameplan, though you now have a decent counter zoning option with Long Shot. A lot of the cast wouldn't take 10% on a projectile trade. There's also the addition of Gun Cancels for potential mind games. And you get much higher damage in the corner over Outlaw

3. Atm I'm doing:

Starter xx db2, b33 xx db2, 21122 xx dbf2
Starter xx EX db2, b33 xx db2, 21122 xx dbf2

Both are easy and high damage.

EX Unload in corner combos seems pointless to me, though maybe someone else has found a reason to use that over EX db2. Keep in mind blockstrings into EX Unload on its own aren't legit. Raw EX Unload is painfully slow. It's safe so I guess it's something you could use on the opponent's wakeup but EX Sand Grenade serves the same purpose.

No. Option Select is when you input the same set of button and for some random reason of the time different of cancel window when the string is block or hit, the special will come out or not. mostly right now is input down down block or down block after the sand toss. you can check out the amory episode 3 of Pig of the hut on youtube to know more

Well, at least my showing at NLBC wasn't terrible last night and I got 1 game off coach steve. Hopefully I'll be able to go again next month and have a better showing for you guys :( I at least got some run cancels off. even if I dropped the combo after.

Any idea if your games will be posted anywhere? I'd like to see longshot cancles used in tournament.

You can find it on Spooky's archive of last night. I didn't do any combos. I would hit the run cancel and then drop something else. Stupid tourney nerves ;-;I also refuse to block apparently.

can we discuss b32 and f132(in the wall) being punishable now

also is anyone else having trouble doing b32u1 into njp with outlaw? the timing seems to be alot tougher now
 
It's a universal change;

  • Fixed several characters being able to attack on the first frame of a jump.
It also affects Kano and others.

I know about that but b32u1 in general just feels like it has way more recovery frames, does anyone know if the recovery frames on that string has changed at all?
 
NRS have changed a lot of the frame data without being specific. Best to dig in and find out what else has changed. I can compare it with the PC version.

Don't know about b32 but f132 has always been punishable, it's just the pushback made it impossible to punish for some characters. Anyone with a fast slide or dash move like Raiden Superman could punish for free.

And yeah the njp is tighter in Outlaw. Before I could mash it, now it requires timing. Honestly it's nothing that a few minutes in training can't fix.

For sure a change. The timing is totally f'd. I started to get the feel for it offline, but went online with a friend to test NJ1 after B32U1 and its damn near impossible, maybe 1 out of 5 times I could land it. Also FJ1 after B32U1 is a memory almost.

Yeah, looks like NJP is out for that. Thankfully he can still chain into Sand Tackle without it.

EDIT: Testing it online and it seems like it still works. Don't really feel confident in testing it on an online player, though.
