Empire Arcadia's DarthArma Stops the reign of EMPR Jupiter!

DarthArma

Warrior
Batman can indeed best martian might!

Bracket http://8wayrun.challonge.com/thebreak241igau

As you can see in the bracket, we had our previous champion jupiter, steroid venom enthusiast grr, dive bombing maniac from the east frantastic, the EVO champion KDZ, the Shazam from the big apple Ronald Rogan, the dictator down player Rico Suave, Satan's right hand man G4S ClaudeVonStroke, green arrow's only upplayer 7L, psychopathic joker loyalist Stevo supremo burrito, and Empire Arcadia's own DarthArma in the mix of this 18 man tournament.

Upon arrival to the tournament, Frantastic was feeling himself due to his recent win over 7L, Grr, and claude von stroke at "When World's Collide" in long island (Not a Powerman5000 reference for some reason) only to lose to claude von stroke in winners, and Grr in losers off stream.

Our play list starts off with the breaks 4 man nidhogg tournament, shout outs to that game and tune in every week at the break to check out the hype footsie action.

SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU DONT WANT TO READ THEM, WATCH THE PLAYLIST BEFORE CONTINUING!

To kick off the injustice action we have a run back from Defend the North, DarthArma vs Grr

Claude's victory over frantastic lead him to his downfall against the finger snapping, unaviodable trait of Rico Suave. HEEEEEE!!

Up next on the Batman's operating table is KDZ with a fresh sinestro and wonderwoman. And a bonus surprise in between those matches.

As all the action is underway, Jupiter takes his sweet 1st place seed ride to winners finals, where he meets RG's Rico Suave. Unfortunately for Rico, a few dropped combos stopped him from tying the set and Jupiter walks away to meet Dartharma in Winner's finals.

Jupiter gets bopitered off the winners bracket into losers finals, where he steps onto of Bane's venom uppercutting shoulder bullshit hitbox hitcontinent back for a 2nd chance to take on DarthArma

Not only did EMPR Jupiter have the title of the break champion, he was also fresh from his win at apex where he not only defeated REO speedwagon in the mirror, but also Rico Suave. Neither of those titles could save him from his demise. His Yoga arms simply weren't long enough to reach through the shadows to strangle the dark knight....this time!

Grand Finals (if you only had time to see one match, and one match only, Watch the 3rd match in grand finals below. Starts around 7:30. The HYPE!!!

1st Place: EMP DarthArma
2nd Place: EMPR Jupiter
3rd Place: EMPR Grr
4th Place: EMP KDZ
5th Place: Jonnitti/RG Rico Suave

I will allow you to steal my results thread style.
Ah, the glorious history of TYM MK9 and IGAU results threads. In the early days, we had intrepid pilgrims like 9.95 phil and Tim Static, who would copy a bare list of placements for all to see:

The "just the facts ma'am" thread: http://testyourmight.com/threads/full-results-for-mk9-at-winter-brawl-6.14229/

Sometimes, the hard-working crew would forget to post results altogether.. And so an honest question would innocently blossom into a declaration of results:

The "accidental" results thread: http://testyourmight.com/threads/summer-jam-6.23599/

When there was a really big event (something marquee and worthy of maximum effort), then the rare 'congratulations-style' thread would be bestowed:

The "congratulations thread": http://testyourmight.com/threads/kn-detroitballn313-wins-mortal-kombat-9-at-mlgs-spring-championships.18195/
The "this used to be the event announcement, then it became top 8 and now it's results" thread: http://testyourmight.com/threads/updated-w-top-6-frosty-faustings-mortal-kombat-update.26570/

There were early trailblazers that broke the usual mold, like the Full Storms Special thread:
http://testyourmight.com/threads/vvv-reo-wins-mortal-kombat-9-at-final-round-xv.14601/
(shoutouts to Storms, who also pioneered the use of the seconds-after results post in our community)

But overall, they were mostly recap and not much analysis or ironic humor.

Then when Injustice launched in all its splendor, a new hero arrived -- this hero believed that writeups should contain life, personality, (even thinly-veiled callouts or statements of hype on occasion), and questions/predictions of the future; that they should relate events to one another, make connections to previous events, and tie each tournament together into a larger narrative... That even locals contained elements of suspense, surprise, and truimph; and that some of the biggest locals deserved to be illuminated to the fullest on the front page and tweeted out in order to help build an audience for our scene.

This hero's name was..

His name was...

RickyRaws

Following his valiant efforts, many local scenes all across the nation began to follow suit, beginning to hold their own weekly local tournaments, and requesting verbose writeups, using their own unique flair and personality to add small twists.

And a brave young explorer, AK Smarrgasm, took it into his hands to write his own local's rundown when no one else had the time to do it each week. His style helped usher in a small new movement, complete with its 3rd person references to his own matches, slight blow ups, and inside jokes on members of his scene.

And here we are today -- a beautiful patchwork of interesting-to-read and colorful recaps that are taking on lives of their own. Long live community journalism and copious 3rd-person references to selves.

Wait.. I think I messed something up in this writeup. Brb, proof-reading.
