one more, then I quit;
-People aren't 'laughing f0xy into irrelevance'. People have been playing against him this entire time, and they simply aren't having the kinds of issuesvs. him that they were early in the game's life. This isn't to say that WW isn't a good character, but look at her results vs. the MMH results.
But nobody is having these issues with the Manhunter either. Show me the tournament (regional, local, major, whatever) that MMH steamrolled that wasn't REO or Jupiter. Hell, show me the one either of them steamrolled? It wasn't Apex. Who in SoCal, or NY/J or GGA or ATL or Texas or even the UK turned into jesus overnight cause they went to Mars?
People have been overrating WW for a long time, and just because someone declared her to be absolute top-level doesn't mean that she is.
What the hell is happening in this thread?! Who proved MMH is any better than top tier? Who proved WW isn't?
-Proof of MMH as a serious thread did not start with APEX and won't end there.
This is not about threat. I feel like you didn't read my post. This is about the perception that MMH is better than any other Top Tier. That he stands either head or shoulders above characters like Aquaman or Batman who continue to prove their quality. He just isn't. Maybe REO is. Maybe Jupiter is. MMH isn't.
-As far as 'No S tier character has ever needed time', again this is completely untrue. In MK9, Kenshi took months and months to reach the level where he was widely feared. In Injustice, even Superman took some months to reach the level he was at by EVO. Sonya was never a day-1 tournament winner and it took a lot of development for her to become what she was in later years.
Are you declaring before god and baby jesus that Kenshi and Sonya are S tier or just some weird allegory where people working hard with high tier characters are the same as broke out the gate characters like Kabal, Cyrax and Kung Lao? (And before you say it, this is pre-nerf Cyrax and Lao) This is the issue with this debate. You keep thinking we're calling MMH bad or even not top tier when we say "not Kabal tier" but Injustice doesn't have the balance schism MK9 did. It has some good characters, it has some really good characters, and it has characters with issues that give the other ones very specific problems. And it has Cyborg. You're putting MMH on a pedestal that does not exist.
It was practically August when MMH was released and that means that at this point he's been out for less than 6 months, and for a higher-execution character that's not very much time at all. This is doubly true for DLC characters, which not everyone buys Day 1.
Add to this that the 1.6 patch in which MMH fared well was in October.
So all those people who got good with Superman and Black Adam in three months are meta-humans? Or are they not high execution enough to get on that mmh 9 months of apologies plan?
-Grr and Maxintensity are indeed proof and they've shown that Bane is a viable Top 8 character now when he was widely considered to be the laughingstock of Injustice. I don't know what you were going for here, but those results speak for themselves.
My point is there's nobody out there saying Bane is the boogeyman that will dominate Injustice in a year even though everything he has accomplished since 1.06 speaks louder than MMH. There's no praise Jesus, Sinestro has finally arrived thread. And when Pig or Dave finally make Zod shine like he deserves on a stream someone is actually watching, you can be sure it'll be them that gets the praise, not the character.
-Equating Killer Frost to MMH is borderline ludicrous and I'll just leave it there.
Equating the nonsense that was surrounding KF to that currently surrounding MMH is not.
