My point is you guys need to learn how to play on stick so you can come to all tournaments. I don't like the fact that some people will only come out to tournaments on XBL, but in the same token, what if I didn't go out of my way to have sticks made for 360 or on the PC? Players who aren't on XBL wouldn't really be able to play on the pad and they miss out at console tournaments, but the game was originally made in the arcade and those players know that.

This tournament is specifcally on an arcade machine, meaning you don't have a choice except to not go, or go and watch. I won't bring a 360 with me and ask for a spot when there are a lot of console games they don't have in there and not to mention the place has its own UMK3 machine.

We can have anywhere from 4 to 30 players show up, and a lot more if XBL players would even get a stick for their PC and play on there for practice. The draw for arcade UMK3 is usually in the teens and there's always a number of people who say they will show and don't. Remember, the major point of this site was to get people to come out for arcade tournaments. I've even volunteered to stop playing in them recently to get more people to sign up.

If were to ever go I'd be more than excited. Haven't played on a Cabinet in ages, and I'll start playing on a stick as soon as I can raise some money and have Poop make me one.

Now, let's find a Cabinet in Florida, and Organize some tournies. Screw you Northerners :p

Definitely do that. There's a ton of Florida and Georgia players, you could get a decent tournament going.

The only cabinet I've personally seen is an MK 2 Cabinet in Central Florida. I've lived in southern Florida all My life and the only arcade that used to have MK1- MK4 Until about 4 years ago. They closed down and I don't know what happened to all the cabinets.

After that, the only cabinet I have seen was about a month ago at a Flea market here in Tampa. MK II.

Believe me, I'm looking.

I will see about getting Busta out there but I'm not sure if he's wrestling that weekend yet.
October is a PACKED month, but it looks like ECC is falling on the one free weekend I've got! So I'm pretty sure I can actually go to this one! Good thing too, cuz I have been HURTIN' for some live MK action.

Ahhhhhh Westbury Nathan's REPRAZENT! I think I was only at Spaceplex once, but I was at that Nathan's a lot. Now it is but a shadow of its former self, so I'm glad we got a place like The Break to work with!

I recently went on vacation in Florida and that had to be the most MK cabinets I've seen in a while! But that was all hotel game rooms and stuff. I have no idea what the "civilian" arcade scene would have to offer down there.

Did you used to play back in the day over there? If so do you remember the same crew of people who used to play all day everyday with no lives whatsoever? Thats how i spent my early 20's ;) So many matches there plus the 24 hour deli on hempstead turnpike by the hooters? Also was the comic book store by the white castle teeamo or something ?

Plus we used to hold tourniments at the strip bar/ pool hall cafe royal on RT110

ah the good old days:)

my 360 just died, waiting for microsoft to send me their dumb box to ship them the console. looks like no UMK3 practice before the tournament.....great. All i got is the MK:T on epsxeall, thanks to shock. But ofcourse, the 360 control pad has the goofiest damn analog, so this won't be fun getting used to. Somehow holding Back turns into duck, back, jump, duck. Up turns into Duck, forward forward turns into forward, duck, or forward jump. Gay ass bullshit, but it's not like anybody is gonna miss me, so idk why im even posting.

it don't really matter, the analog on the 360 controller is too goofy. its constantly screwing up. And thats the only controller I have.

Save up and have I Love Poop make you an arcade stick.

i seriously do want an arcade stick, but don't you think $140 is a lil steep? If it was more along the lines of $60, id be all over it.

Considering how much it costs to make a stick, $140 is a steal. If you charge any less than that you are basically making them for free.

That stick, while functional, would force you learn a completely unintuitive way of playing the game. You could have the stick refit for a better set up, like BL HP HK on top and RUN LP LK on bottom.

whould that arcade stick work good for umk3?
yeah it would work for umk3 but its better for games like Street Fighter the way it has 3 on top and 3 on bottom, and its decent for the 3d fighters

to be honest i cant stand playin umk3 on sticks that are set up like that one because i like to have the block in the middle and run off to the side how it normally is

its not useless you can still use it, it would just force you to play a different way

uncomfortable for most....
