She was definitely designed to be a 'sexy monster girl'. I mean, she had feet shaped like high heels. Her markings on her face coincidentally looked like eyeshadow and lipstick. She has breasts despite being an insect rather than a mammal.

Like, there are a lot of ways to do 'bee person' that aren't also a hot goth girl in a cape. I'm not being critical -- I think D'Vorah is a great design -- but she was pretty sexed up for an insect lol

Looking at this concept art and this concept art I think it'd be goofy to pretend she wasn't intended to be alluring/sexy.

These concepts are a million times better than the MK11 look. The hood just adds so much awesomeness. And I’m not a fan of the new exoskeleton.

She didn't even look sexy in mkx, she just looked young and had an appealing sinister face. Now with the super sharp and pointy cheek bones she looks like an old hag which am not digging at all. Even as a monsterous bug lady, there is no reason to make the face look so hideous.

That being said, I really love what they did with the body. Specially those hard armor like skin parts.

people, all people, not matter their orientation like looking at attractive people. Someone wanting their fav character to look athletically pleasing is totally normal and not creepy or lame in anyway.

The thing is the human brain is really good at noticing when things look "wrong". There is a nick name for it in 3D Animation called "The Uncanny Valley". Basically when something looks very realistic but it off, our brains fail to accept it. There is a big long explanation as to why this happens I'll not go into but the result of it is that a realistic 3D render that is deformed or "not quite right' will make us feel strange when we see it and a cartoon cat that looks completely fake doesn't give us any negative reaction while at the same time is instantly recognized and accepted as a cat.

Personally I like the way she looks, but it is very obvious that she is not "real" enough to pass some peoples brain tests and not monstrous, or unreal enough, for them to not be bothered. She is not so deformed that she no longer looks like a human and we stop trying to put her into that slot in our brain, and she is not so human like that she fits in that slot.. so to speak.

This is a very common problem in "realistic" fantasy art and one with reems of data... and it dose effect most people in varying degrees. It is not surprise that there is a lot of dislike for this look.

JK, but I still think it's psychological. People want their faves to look hot because they like looking at pretty things so they'll be very opinionated - people who don't care will still call them all ugly because they just want to see the world burn or they're just trolls and hate everything.
