Now that it's been out for a while and I've warmed up to it, some thoughts on Dimitri:

1. If you are still wondering, "why, just why?", the Mortal Kombat Techno Theme was huge and helped the series become ingrained in popular culture by being a memorable song in the club scene and whatnot. They are rekindling that a bit with stuff like this skin and having artists do remixes and whatnot.

2. The voice acting is fucking hilarious in the best way. It's not someone trying to do great voice acting and failing, it's someone having fun and giving us some classic MK4 levels of campiness.

3. It was free and it's a really cool looking skin.

I disagree.
Bad marketing sucks, that we can agree on, but in no way does it excuse people going directly to Dimitri's twitter and excessively harass him because of some free skin in a game. Dimitri has nothing to do with how the marketing was handled, other than him promoting the game on his tour and playing the song he and Like Mike remixed for the game.

You sound very disconnected by saying bad marketing is worse than personal attacks against another human being, as if his life is worth less than your experience of some entertainment media. Please...

I totally agree on personal attacks, no discussions about that. What we see here is backlash from bad marketing and poor execution on the team that worked on the skin, Maybe the guy did voice acting for the first time in his life, but the directors should've directed him better with the acting. Maybe he thought it would be a great idea to be in an MK game, but the marketers should've let people know who he is. Maybe he was somewhat brought into it and just did this skin and went on with his life. I don't know. All I know is this skin was executed poorly, marketed poorly, thus negative feedback is due. What shape it takes is up to the one giving it. Also you talk about him like you know him personally, is that the case?

The point was already discussed to nausea. These kind of events are for people who aren't actually fans of the saga, to try to draw interest in it. So it's not really relevant that a part of the fanbse didn't know him. I'm not entering on it being a good or bad marketing decisión, just saying that point makes no sense for me.

No seriously, some MK 4 lines are bad sure but others are still better than Dimitre's sub lol. I would compare his VA to House of the Dead, now that game has horrible va
