Excuse me for being one of the few people within this community to recognize that Sonic Fox used a complex set of mix ups to outplay his adversaries. Sonic Fox would, for example, run up to his opponent and perform an EX slide, which is a safe armored special move that carries no risk whatsoever. If the slide hit, Sonic Fox would run again and apply a variety of ambiguous mix ups, which, in reality, are a mere 50/50 mix up that any rush down fool with half a brain could take advantage of.

Sonic Fox is not the next Justin Wong. Sonic Fox is not even the next Daigo. Sonic Fox is the next step in evolution of human capability in fighting games.

I feel sorry for Ketchup. I mean shit happens, it wasn't his day... But when he got denied from a handshake by his own brother (even tho he didn't wanted to) - that was wierd and funny as hell xD

In this tournament, were people counterpoking or full combo punishing whiffed pokes? Did they utilize every situation that an invincible backdash could be used for?

Maybe there is more to MKX than one tourney can demonstrate. The first EVO looked nothing like what we recognize MK9 to play like at high level, and those guys had that game for longer than 48 hours.

Of course, this game isn't MK9 but my point stands: Until we fully understand MK X's neutral game, its poke/counterpoke meta and all of the applications of invincible backdashing, to say nothing of every single character's variations and tools, perhaps we should calm down with the knee jerk reactions.

To be fair, mk9 was by far the most fresh and original and mkx and injustice were based off it systematically. Also the community has so much more experience going into mkx. We'll adapt much faster. It takes time to acclimate to a system, but injustice felt off from day one and it still remains limited and broken. Mk9 was an accidental gem and there is a n adequate cause for concern with the mechanics of mkx and it lending towards a more patient reactionary playstyle that mk9 was clise to achieving. Injustice was very abusive and my gut with mkx is it feels somewhere in between. When I see armor on everything and the mixups and movement it appears very up clise oriented and with lots of forced guessing.

Every time Tyrant changed configs after me, it would change my "alternate controls" config to on, it basically made my specials into quarter circle forward movements instead of down forward movements. Effectively, i could not do ex shocker to get out of the corner pressure, as i was doing down forward movents.

You can see me at fullscreen trying to do fireballs but only a standing jab Coming out.

This is not Tyrants fault and i give him full credit for the win he is an amazing player!

Had i had the correct inputs i feel Tyrant would have still won, though there would of been more times where i would have punished his corner pressure.

Im with ya @SkaGoogle. IMO PL is still the best and I was so hyped to see the final between PL and Sonic. Not because they are top players, but because it would have been interesting to see the MU between Lao and Erron.

All in all this was just a warm up, I can't wait to see how EVO 2015 will be.

BTW - Does anyone know who's invited in Shang Tsung's knight tournamet? Any guys from FATAL 8?

I don't blame you for not paying attention to TYM, in fact I applaud you, but this shit isn't made up at all. Nobody ever said SonicFox was bad, obviously, since that'd be ridiculous, but A LOT of people were floating around the idea that "yeah this kid is good but BATGIRL BATGIRL BATGIRL BATGIRL!"

I know your post is a dig at someone specific but let's be real.

But he was really good at mk9 too with freaking mileena. And of course Sonya but point still stands he's just really good

Yo i see Sonic Fox's character checklist

1.Mix ups
2.Advancing specials
3.With Armour

Sonicfox has proven himself for every NRS game and outside games, he plays great mind games and does not let his op get the chance to think..... pure phycology

He also showed from the 2 days he played it he can adapt and change his style fast, he played really patient against Mjt which is something we dont see him do much.
He actually showed us he can do foosties too, his conversions on combo's are sharp as fuck, and he was blocking shit everyone was getting hit with all night.

idk but imo he has proven himself...again

Yeah, great tournament. Loved all the way trough except finals lol.

Tho I think 2nd place deserved a little bit more money, considering that the 1st place gets 7.5k $.
