I think d2 is the best AA to use with grundy. Also use MB Swamp Hands as an AA to get a good combo after it,but youll eat chip damage.

D+2 is the best AA if you use it before they reach their arch jump, otherwise it's better to use the AA grab since they'll stuff the D+2.

Even tough Brady said "No" when someone asked does Grundy finish his poem, i find that hard to believe im betting its an Easter Egg, Maybe Tom doesn't even know about i dont have the game yet but im betting their is a way to finish
I think he says an altered poem.

Solomon Grundy.
Born on a Monday.
Prisoned on Tuesday.
Died on Wednesday.
Buried on Thursday.

Listen to him instead of assuming he repeats the poem exactly.

I noticed that doing something like f13 into MB swamphands only works against Female characters (Except Wonder Woman, lol). Do we have gender bias combos in this game?

I'm posting this here because I figure if you're in a character subforum discussion you care about getting better and maximizing your beastmode. I'd like to get some lobbies going with like-minded players especially players who are already established and don't mind deigning to play online with unknowns. Add me on XBL: Bolo Yeung.

F+1,3, 1,1~MB Swamp hands is always guaranteed for everyone to land on, plus does more damage then f+1,3, 2~MB Swamp hands

Now that we're on that note. 2 is Grundy's farthest and fastest punish for 11 frames. Beats Flash's superman charge on block, and you can also hit Aquaman's d+2 out of range if you play footsies with him.

Two more things,

1, Learn this bnb, biggest damage so far 1 bar. Important note, if you move at all after swamp hands, it won't work. 112~MB Swamp hands, grave rot, b+2, ji.3, 11~trait (health): Varies between 53% and 55%

2,In the corner, you can do 112~MB Swamp hands, grave rot, f+3, j.2, 1,b+2~trait throw (health) and get 53% or 55%.

What if they block F+1,3 string? Do we just block after it or is there something safe that we can do to mix it up a bit?

You're at -3 at it if you don't do anything. BUT, you can cancel the 3 into trait grab and catch them if they just sit there. Shit is grimey, obviously they can back dash or reversal, but if they press a button they get dribbled.

You can also:

MB cleaver spin
WCC (Not the best option honestly)
MB Swamp hands (has armor on it)
d+1 check
that's it.

Edit: Just found something, majority of Grundy's strings you can just trait throw and catch them slipping if they sit there. D+1 especially.

back dash will not get eaten by pokes. So if you aren't RIGHT on top of them... then you can just back dash as well.

I was going to mention that even tho his d1 is 11 frames... its hella long ranged, and can link into a hard knockdown sweep or exDeadAir. The grab leads to 40% damage.

The hard knockdown is key though. It is the only way to use his big time meaties to crush wakeups. His sweep is good for this as well... it has range for days.

And keep in mind your trait throws folks, Grundy has set ups for days for them. D+1,3, dash, trait throw. damage/power trait throw full string, into another trait throw. (You literally don't have to move after that whole string, you're right in range to trait throw again.) and a few more I have that i'd like to keep to myself for now. c:

I was doing it earlier but now it just doesnt work at all
The main problem will be the MB swamp hands into grave rot, if you can time that perfectly, the last part shouldn't be that difficult. It's just timing, took me 3 hours of training mode today to get it 90%

Can you stack buffs from command throw? If not, how long does a buff last?
You can't stack them beyond level 2, and if you're buffing your Health and then do the Damage chain you lose the health buff, but the buffs last the entire match.

Question, what is the best normal to punish Black Adam's divekick? Can it lead to great damage?
2, but it's better to hit him as he's doing it. You have a few options

j.1, nj.2, dash up and d+2 as soon as you see him jump (This is the best option), d+2 on reaction as he's flying down.

Cause he cant zone like a madman ...no projectile for grundy...sadface
Man, once people really learn how to pressure with him and what he is all about I hear nerf Walking Corpse coming from a mile away. In many ways I don't want to put out a video series showcasing everything this monster is about because I'm sure most of the Grundy mains will know this stuff. However, I see it advantageous to the Grundy community because we will be able to base our concepts around the same principals and evolve from there. Hopefully this will level us up and at the same time show ways to counter the dirt that Grundy has, therefore, cancelling out the call for nerfs. Gut feeling isn't good though. Can't wait for my first vid to drop.

My friend who wants to main Grundy just got the game, he played MK9 a tiny bit but for the most party he's competely new to fighters but he's smart and good at learning. What are some crucial things you think a potential Grundy player would need to know? Some crucial bnbs to get him started, when and when not to do a certain move or string, etc. I don't want to link him to the Grundy bnb thread cause it's just so full of combo notations and it will overwhelm him and I don't know Grundy enough to tell him what to learn.

I really appreciate any help I can get. :)
