Black Canary Combo Thread(Updated 5/27/2017)

I don't know how optimal this is, but I've found high damage and great success with this one:

21->MB DB2, B3, J3, 33->lvl 3 Trait, DF3, 33

It ranges around 600 damage for 1 bar and level 3 trait, and you can cancel the 33 into a DB2 which crossup the opponent. That combo goes:

MB DB2, B3, J3, 33->BF2

For around 500 damage (in other words an entire lifebar for two bar, trait combo).

Found a more damaging follow up to mb canary drop, it also leaves you closer.

B1 - Canary drop (MB) - B3 - J2 - J2 - 112 1+3 -... leads to a nice oki

with lvl 3 trait you can go straight back into canary drop setup:

B1 - Canary drop (MB) - B3 - J2 - J2 - 112 - lvl 3 trait - dash - ji2 - 21 - Canary drop

Instead of the 1+3 you can do bf2 at the end, to stay on the same side for a little less dmg

Unless they're deadshot, in which case he recovers in time to shot you out of your canary cry, (or trade in which case you don't have enough time to dash in for the combo anyways).
yea, i was in the lab with this for a while last night. he just recovers to fast. trade is in his favor. They need to make the recovery both hit and block the same as his other gun shots.

setup:starter xx lvl 3 trait handspring, f13 xx canary drop reset
OR
Starter xx lvl 3 trait handspring, j2,d3 > canary drop
This canary drop reset your talking about? are you just doing drop then changing the direction to have it either hit in front or behind for the 50/50 mix up or are you going for a low after f13?

regular canary drop lands in front, forward lands behind. i usually do regular first because most people are blocking the opposite direction

Not sure if known but

2u3 D2 ji2 21 B2 gives 235.56 on Superman and it is easy

Vs

2u3 21B2 giving 208.96

You can also finish with 112 1+3 instead of 21 for 237.83

Take a look at this. Don't pay attention to the set numbers this was his early Darkseid. He still was zoning me though so you can try and use this as a basis or understanding of how to approach zoning

Yo, I checked this out and I noticed you were doing a lot of raw cartwheels in neutral to try and get in. I feel ULTRA vulnerable whenever I do this. Is there something I'm missing as far as how safe it is from particular distances or something? Is it just because it's a fairly fast move?

Trying to get a feel why you were so willing to use it. Thanks in advance!

Handspring is veryyyy useful in neutral since it goes through projectiles and builds meter. I try not to ABUSE it it's more of a tactical maneuver. Her neutral is very jump,handspring, and canary cry specific. Here's a bunch of games where I played different players and diff Playstyles. You'll see the difference

It was not obvious for me... I used f13 after the MB df1... Thanks for the tip...

21 links into canary drop in the corner. (I wonder if it links on big characters midscreen).
You can do easy beefy 2 bar punish like that:
21, bf2 MB, j2, 21, db2 MB, b3, j2, 33, trait, ff, jf2, 21, df3(u3). (I do j2 before 33 because I don't want to drop).

Thanks for the tip about the df3(u3), for damage it seems it's the best ender. I wonder if it's one of those moves that NRS forgot to adjust in terms of damage scaling.

Did anyone else know you can land Canary Drop off of a B3? If you spend 2 meter you can do-MBB3-MB Canary Drop-33xx4-33-Soaring Knee for a 571.1 punish. Don't know how useful that would be, you have to blow a lot of resources

Didn't know you could do that, might be useful sometime to end a match in the right conditions.

It ranges around 600 damage for 1 bar and level 3 trait,
21-> DB2MB only combos in the corner or vs the big guys (Swamp thing, Bane, Darkseid, Grodd, Atrocitus) in mid screen.

It probably does the most damage for only 1 bar and lvl 3 trait though.
