you guys are the leader of the baraka kummunity lets keep it so people like myself can come in teh forum and make it easy for me to learn how to use him. you guys are awesome again your post will be read by all baraka fans. if you feel you have posted something that is new and ground breaking that needs to be front page news all you need to do is post in this thread and leave a link to storms with the @ symbol..

ye argee maybe should keep zoids corner combo thread as a main combo thread,im still workin on a MAJOR update on the community guide as ive spoken with loco about,after the tourny i have sat ill have alot more time to finish it off

on the sindel thing,i think a few of the matchups here still have the wrong numbers imo (ie.liu kang,even reo/m2dave list had it as bad matchup but dont worry lads,not starting on that again...well not right now anyway) but id still say raka hav adv over sindel 5.5-4-5 more than 6-4 though

sindel normals are fasters than rakas so it not just a case of gettin past the zoning for a free win but she has no armour besides xray to deal with rakas frame trap/reset game,close airfireball great for keeping rakas non-ex charge game in check though and low fireball sometimes trades with spark because both so slow but sindels do more damage im pretty sure

Cyrax: This is a very dull, very boring match. You have to make a lot of reads, always waiting for that dreaded net. One block net equals a blade charge, however if they are stupid enough to net you up close, immediately go F4 into frametraps and then keep up pressure. Once he gets in the corner make sure to always end combos in resets, as his wakeup game is too dangerousIf he throws out bombs and you are close enough blade charge, even if he expects this it is safe on block so he cant do anything too damaging. Teleport is punished by blade spin, so that is another part of his game Baraka can counter.

The second part of f44 will beat out the invincibility frames.of his anti air grab.

And yeah trying to stuff characters wake up is bad against most characters, but cyrax and liu kang will get stuffed 90% of the time.

the move is less than 10 frames,weres the invincibility window gap for it to hit? and if its ex it def wont def wont stuff it backing two kinds of armor
same with snuffing ex kang moves,you have the 1 frame before the armor kicks in

Hey guys just giving you all a heads up, I stopped playing MK. Until NRS fixes all the unbearable glitches in this game, and fixes the netcode, I can't take this game seriously anymore. I really hate the fact that I can't use my character online to practice matchups because of the delay or fear of dropped inputs. So until a new version of the game is released, I'll be fighting dragons in Skyrim.

To all of you still playing, stick with Baraka! He's still gdlk, and I have a strong feeling he will make his first top 8 soon enough

1st off does you mean you wont be at NEC?

2nd and more importantly...please dont quit playin because the online is ass,i know sometimes its needed as there mightnt be a sindel or sheeva player in your circles so online is needed for that but thats all online is atm,a flawed pratice mode,i dont play online anymore,havnt for about 2 months and im all the better for it.
even when the game of the year edition comes out im sure the things wrong prob wont be fixed so i get your fustration but anyway i hope u change your mind and stay the vital part of the baraka community that you are,you will be missed if you do go

Yeah I'm not at NEC, and have no tournament plans right now. It's not just the online being ass, I also need to step away for personal/financial reasons as well. I'll still play the game casually and provide input from time to time, but as far as being a tournament level guy to get advice from and whatnot, don't count on me moving forward. Guys like Bravo, galindo, THTB, Kidigital, jamesmk, ShadowZeroKyo, and other offline guys, as well as you forum monsters like yourself Zoidberg, LOCO, and all the rest, I'm sure will be able to provide much more detailed input. Good luck guys!

i will use him at socal regionals, but i will use shang tsung for any sub zero, kabal, and maybe kitana match ups

Once he ice clones and you have no meter all you can do is chop chop to gain meter. Once you do the Ex blade charge, he just ice clones again...

Once you get in up close d1 slices owns him(I learned this while playing casuals against the Kano, who also played subXD). But I just find it so hard to get in close. Any suggestions?

i really love the baraka vs sub match because of the whole perfect meter mangement raka must have
ive said before 99% sub zeros start match with clone,vs raka bad idea,free normal blade charge,clone wont come out so thats always handy for 1st hit meter

yea when raka has no meter is tough but of course when u do use meter to get in and stay close with frametraps/blockstrings sub wont have the chance to get out ice clone while your building meter for when he does get space and try one, so at times gettin chip a good thing so 122~slices/spin etc to MAKE him block,
when sub is behind a clone(mid screen) is option really are ice ball or slide so while hes keeping u out he shouldnt get to much damage but meter he will.
as much of a bashing i give spark, i like it i this match for catching sub in start up frames of ice ball but its bad news if it trades so pick your moments
another thing i love,chop choping the crap out of slide,just makes me feel good inside

From my experiences, Baraka's projectile can work good against Sub. If you can anticipate a clone, you can just throw out a projectile to hit him while staying out of harm's way. Sometimes you can catch him with a blade charge as well without getting touched by the clone at the right distance.

The Sub matchup isn't that bad...without meter it's kinda hard, but know that blade charge's hitbox is way further out than the hurtbox, so Sub can't exactly stay on top of clone. If you don't have meter to punish clone, use spark to check Sub afterwards if possible. Any other time, clone should be smacked on reaction with EX charge.

It's a matchup of patience. Somewhat like Sub vs Cage but not as bad.
