In my opinion, characters in B & C tier (of Tom Brady's/REO's tier list) should receive major buffs. Characters in A tier should minor buffs. Characters in A+ & S tier should be left alone. Even if tech is discovered that puts an S tier character into S+, just buff everyone to compensate.

If top tier characters in MK9 (Kabal, Cyrax, Lao, Kenshi, etc.) all got nerfed to Jade's level, the game would be terrible. All characters having cheap shit makes a way better fighting game than all characters having nothing.

the games characters are going to get nerfed or buffed whether the game is new or not. people who always say " learn the MU learn the MU" shut it already your only saying so so that your character is touched on by NRS and dont have to put up with the bull from that character. alot of the characters who havent been nerfed yet will be in do time. thats just how some fighting games are.

I'm so sick of seeing threads like this, they're everywhere. Learn to adapt to how the game is with the character you play, or switch to a "top" one. Stop crying for nerfs and buffs. This game has hardly had any time to develop.

Edit: I honestly wish they would've never made the tier list so everyone wouldn't be complaining all the time. Half of the people calling for nerfs don't even understand why characters are where they are at.

Things will never change... there will always be people who want either nerfs or buffs. Like I want my Batman buff already! :joker:

I'm pretty sure I've seen Nightwing use the staff spin move on wake-up and beat out people clicking buttons on him. He has complete invincibilty, I've baited it, used lighting strike, and it just went through him. What else do you want?

Try a cross up jump in. Or just make the read and jump over the character?
 
Killer frost doesn't deserver any nerfs.OP, I guess you would like to have her slide tweaked. Bad idea, her slide is her best move and should always stay safe on block because if her slide was something like -15 on block, she would probbably move down the tier list a bit IMO

Well, you're wrong. Staff Spin on wakeup is beaten by a solid majority of the cast by a simple neutral jump 2. The rest can beat it with cross up 2 or cross up 3. How do I know? I just ran through Batman, Superman, Black Adam, Green Arrow, Shazam, Harley, Batgirl, Lobo, Lex, Cyborg, Joker and Raven to confirm something I already knew. Unless you're playing a character like Hawkgirl with an insanely floaty jump arc - Staff Spin isn't a problem. Oh, and it just so happens that Hawkgirl is one of Nightwing's worst matchups - wherein Hawkgirl's trait alone negates nearly all of Nightwing's tools.

Maybe I can't read, but at least I know how to use the fucking training mode.

Almost no wake-up attack beats cross-ups, yet you're crying, saying that Nighting has zero wake-up options. How about blocking them, like what the majority of the cast has to do, instead of complaining that Nightwing has no wake-up otions. Chill out, we're talking about a video game.

Nightwing's staff spin is a really good wake up. It can be easily baited. You can just block it if the nightwing has no meter or you have a low hitbox also.
Staff spin with no meter is negative so he can't even pressure afterwards.
Low hitboxes can punish the shit out of MB staff spin.

Nightwing is fine the way he is.

If DS got any kind of a small buff I think it should be that Sword spin gets +4 advantage on hit as a combo ender. I dont even think its +4 on a regular hit even though I heard it was but it wasn't in the patch notes so idk for sure. Ive tested it out and it still looks neutral on hit

To be completely fair, you can't cross up staff spin, it moves his hurtbox forward. It's actually a really good wake up because it's even safe on block. But Nightwing is fine the way he is. This thread is still pointless.

Nightwing has four staff strings, not one. Three of them are already safe on block, and they're hardly slow. They all start off an 11f standing 1. With that range, 11F strings are stupid good fast.
Nightwing has 1 string. It starts from the same starter. Different endings but they all have the same startup.

It's 11 frames, yes it has range, but that means shit if Nightwing is up close. Considering in escrima mode, he has nothing faster than an 8 frame mid, he is going to get eaten alive by 5-7f pokes, and he does.

Staff mode turns that on it's head. He has a wonderful poke, but he loses all the versatility of escrima mode. If you nerf his d1, and make it negative on block lets say even -1, when he is in range to utilize his 11F starter, it will most often than not become a 12 frame starter. That would make it nearly impossible to use in close quarters. You could literally just wait for the d1, and mash any string (including your own d1) without fear. You wouldn't have to respect his staff in close quarters.

If nightwing is throwing out 1 midscreen, he is asking to get jumped on.

Nightwing is a fair character...people just don't fucking lab anymore.

Regular dives are already -15 on block.

Punish accordingly for fuck's sake.
If he does it right, it becomes a lot harder to block/punish bud. Certain characters can do it more easily than others though.
