Question - Leatherface Anyone else eating their words?

Based on his behavior and personality in the movies, what interest would he have in starting something with someone who looks like Shinnook or Kotal?

It would be very situational. The creator of the character says (and the og movie hints at it too) that Leatherface kills out of fear (Or if his family tells him too, and he listens to them out of fear as well) he isn't some guy walking around preying on people because he enjoys killing people. So if for some absurd reason Kotal or Shinnok was walking a place where Leatherface was too, and he was frightened, he would attempt to attack lol

Some of you MK fanboys are fucking dorks. Listen, the MK universe is fictional. It's contrived. It's always subject to arbitrary change and it's always at the mercy of its whimsical creators. Therefore, this perpetual argument that (character x) doesn't "fit" MK is inherently illogical and patently moronic. Based on the reasoning some of you have endorsed, you just as easily could have argued that Stryker, Sektor, and Cyrax didn't belong in MK before MK3 dropped.

What you guys really should be writing is that (character x) doesn't fit YOUR idea of what the MK universe SHOULD be, not what the MK universe actually is (I.e. What its creators have decided it to be)

Lastly, lighten the fuck up! It's not real. It's a fictional universe created for a video game. Do yourselves a favor: Sit back and enjoy the innovations of one of the most creative video game developers on the planet. And if you really don't like a few characters, do what I do: Take them into training mode and beat the ever-living shit out of them. (That goofy sounding fuck, reptile, will be getting his daily beating shortly )

Actually, a lot of the CAPCOM community hated Mega Man and Pac Man being in SFxT, as well as the locked, on disk DLC.

Well, I've always been a huge lore fan of games in general, so its pretty fucking annoying. Even more so with a game that has an extensive lore attached to it. So I 100% understand (and agree) with where there coming from.

@KeyserSoze I'm sry but also being a big fan since MK1 remind me again when guest chars appeared in past MK games before MK9. Because Cyrax, Sektor and Stryker are ORIGINAL MK characters, not from another franchise, their origins are in context to MK lore.

I'd rather Shang Tsung too, believe me, but Leatherface looks fun as hell to play. It also helps that I watched the original 1970's Texas Chainsaw Massacre to better understand what Leatherface is all about.

When Leatherface was first announced, I was so against the character being in a Mortal Kombat game. Not really because he's a movie character, because I like Alien and Predator, but because he didn't seem like a character that could compete in the universe. Not to mention, I hated all of the movies besides the very first one.

But i'm not gonna lie, when I saw the character's moves, the diversity in the variations, and oh my, Butcher and the Butcher specific brutality, I was hype. They really put a lot of thought and work into what a lot of people and myself included, thought was just a money grab.

Honestly, Alien is still who i'm most interested in. Although, if it doesn't have what i'm looking for, i'm 100% comfortable in falling back on Butcher. This isn't a big deal obviously, it's just a video game, but I've never been so against something in my life, just to be 100% for it after less than an hour's worth of information.

Fellow TYMers, BUTCHER BOYZ. Leatherface supporters, i'm sorry. March first can't come sooner.

Still have no interest in this uncreative and uninteresting waste of a roster space.

I don't think people hate Leatherface because he looks stupid or doesn't fit. I was impressed with how great of a job NRS did on him, they made Leatherface as cool as they could possibly make Leatherface.

I think people hate Leatherface because there were a million other characters that would have been a better pick. Even Leatherface at his coolest isn't going to be as awesome as some other MK characters that could have made it in. Or even if they had to go with a guest, why not Spawn or one of the other 1000's of badass characters in films that are cooler than Leatherface idk. Leatherface is just a human with a chainsaw. I'm hoping his playstyle is fun at the very least

spawn is way way WAY worse than Leatherface. lets leave try hard comics out of MK.. he is a better fit for its-just-Ass. Leatherface is a much better fit than Predator or Alien. I think if they have to have guests characters they should stick to Horror icons. Seriously Spawn? I know there is a loud minority on that wagon, but good gwad... he is a awful choice for mk... especially when there is a entire game devoted to comics.

I'm convinced you have no idea who Spawn is. Spawn is a million times better than Leatherface. And if Scorpion fits MK, Spawn sure as hell does too.

In spite of your salty, childish views towards Injustice, you're actually closer to being right than most of the people here.

Spawn is pretty cool... until you grow up and realize he's along the same vein as Mark Miller's writer shielding characters or Japan's invincible McGuffan-powered protagonists (I'm looking at you Alucard of Hellsing who just won't die because reasons). Spawn is powerful because he's Spawn because he's powerful because he's Spawn. He's really not that interesting.

And to those of you complaining about lore shafted for the sake of "uninteresting characters", NRS defecated in the bed during Injustice when they included Scorpion over a substantially larger mythos of DC characters and off-shoot brands. After that, nothing is truly sacred and that's perfectly fine. NRS is run by big boys. They can do whatever they heck they want to their games for whatever reason. As long as these choices don't truly make the game unplayable (which Leatherface, despite your delusional, biased fantasies, does not), their games will probably continue doing well within their spheres.

Huh? What was childish and immature about the character? The rest of your opinion leads me to believe you don't like comics though.
