Bumping this thread because Aftermath is launching in under 24 hours. If you want to get any final predictions out, now is your last chance.

I also wouldn't be surprised if some people gain access a little earlier than the set release date somehow and/or more leaks, rumors, or whatever start popping up.

The last month has had, what, three entire story leaks? some complete with more than one hidden character AND full KP 2 details. None of these came from reliable sources, and all of them read really poor from a script/storytelling standpoint - filled with unecessary detail and deep-dive lore. One of these leaks literally came out the day after the new trailer just so they could include the scenes from the trailer. pffffffffft.

Honestly, I'm completely convinced they're all BS, and, for the first time in forever, NRS have actually been able to keep the lid on something.

Either way, we'll all know soon enough.

Well, looks like the retcon is real. Mastermind Quan Chi murdered Sindel and made everyone believe it was a suicide.

This was nothing more than villain porn, with Fire God Liu Kang being Deus ex machina. It couldn't be taken seriously because Netherrealm continues to ignore the strength tier that they establish...well, Kotal Kahn's still worthless. They remembered that at least.

Oh, and Cassie really needs to stop with the "I beat Shinnok!" talk.

Post story thoughts, Overall I thought it was very well done!


Some cool bits I enjoyed:
  • Fight choreography was top notch.
  • Shang Tsung is a boss even when he's consistently get his ass beat lol
  • Sheeva manhandling kotal.
  • Multiple endings was cool (especially that full circle ending)
Clues for the future?
  • Shang Tsung sending Geras to Chaos Realm to play with Havik :)
  • I wonder who else was released from the void aside from Shang/Fujin/Nightwolf?
  • Lots of references to Shinnok and Quan Chi.
  • Little green statue (Reptile?).
  • "Chaos Realm and Order realm are next!"

Okay, so... two endings.

If Fire God Liu Kang wins, he goes very far into the past and chooses the Great Kung Lao as his champion.

If Shang Tsung wins, he becomes a Titan/Elder God and has Dark Raiden and Fujin (Corrupted Fujin?) doing his biding. They inform him that Earthrrealm, Outworld and the Netherrealm have been conquered; and Chaosrrealm and Orderrealm are next.

Both have sequel potential. Which one do you prefer?

I like the second one more. Imagine having Havik and Hotaru joining forces for once to stop Shang Tsung.
