Accepting the New Kast

What's the point of a random Krypt?
I just hate the bug lady, like with all my might. I'll repeat it again and again, she looks like a Mass Effect character, not something from MK. With that said, I like having new characters, but I think having that many new characters is a mistake, 8 new characters would be far more than enough, but there is no need to go replacing the whole roster when there are so many MK characters to bring back. I'm one of those guys that sees potensial in most of the 3D era characters, but I'm really scared to end up with a bunch of Hsu Haos.

I'm actually pretty excited for the new characters(Except for Cassie, just hate her), and I cannot wait to see the other new characters. Regarding the old cast, I only hope Reptile makes it in, and hopefully not changed into some lame cyborg. As for my other mains Shang Tsung, Smoke, and Nightwolf, I'm going to have to accept that they're not going to be playable in MKX (Maybe DLC though) despite how badly I want them in. At this point though, I just want to see what crazy new characters NRS has for MKX. Here's hoping for some type of Beast Shapshifter or Werewolf!

GT MK OshTekk.
Mortal Kombat 9 taught me that you could just end up hating your favorite character any way based on the way they play :p My favorite character was scorpion but I hated his flip a coin play style so I switched to cage who I had no interest in at the beginning but he grew on me.
Agreed. I loved Stryker and Nightwolf now I dont even wanna know anything about them.

Plus like @Mr. Mileena said, the DLC possibilities are endless. I really hope we receive at least 10+ DLC characters which could be two season passes.

Even if characters like Noob, Reptile, Cyrax, etc don't make it in initially, we could always get something like:

Season 1: Cyber Pack
Cyber Smoke
Cyber Sub
Cyrax
Sektor
Cyber Reptile (yes, I said Cyber Reptile lol)
Switch Cyber Sub with Hyrdo from MK Legacy and I'm in.

I just think it would be much better if it were the same cast+ the new characters. I know it might be part of the story, but I just don't think it is a good idea to be removing a lot of these iconic characters.

To anyone still complaining about MKX having too many new characters, just look at this guy's post FFS.

Everyone has to chill about this. Think about this for a minute:

MK1 - 7 brand new characters we've never seen before
MK2 - 12 characters, only 5 returning from MK1 (59% of the cast is new)
MK3 - 15 characters, only 7 returning from MK2 (53% of the cast is new)
UMK3 - 23 characters, only 11 returning from MK1/2 (52% of the cast is new)
MK4 - 16 Characters(if you inclued Noob), only 9 returning from MK1/2/UMK3 (44% of the cast is new)

I think everyone needs to realize that this has been an ongoing trend. In almost EVERY MK game from MK1 to MK4, almost half the cast is new. This is old news everyone, no need to be alarmed!

The one thing I want is that they give me a character I like and isn't complete fucking trash.

Really though, I'm digging them so far even though I'm not sure I like Kotal as much as I thought I did. Two out of his 3 variants look cool, but I fear it'll be the variant I don't like that'll be top tier.

I'm just worried that 14 are new! It's cool to see new, but 14!? My biggest worry is that that's a lot of different characters with different personalities and fight styles. I fear that half of these will just turn out to be corny!

Screw the old cast. After MK3 the vast majority of new characters were lame asses with TERRIBLE names and back stories.

Let's shy away from mediocrity.

I wouldn't worry, there will be about 24 more characters left to announce, pretty sure that there will be a few variations that could beat that "Top Tier Variant".

Oh, I'm sure. I just don't want to feel locked into a single variant. The system's a damn good thing in my opinion.

You can just see the excitement on Ed Boon's face during the interviews. He wants to tell everyone all the cool shit mkx is gonna have but legally can't just yet. I have total faith in the new characters, but am probably more excited for redesigns from MK characters from the 3d generation. Some had cool backstories: Ashrah, Tanya, Havik, Bo Rai Cho, so it'll be awesome to see how NRS rehauls them and makes them fit the grittier feel of MKX.

A revamped Shujinko could be really cool as well, get rid of the copy cat fighting style, and focus on an old dude on a mission (that he thinks is far greater than the shinnok's invasion) it could be a cool concept.

The only thing i didn't want to see in MK are ''Giant/Big/Fat Characters like this Boraicho ... but now we have Ferra/Torr pfff
Such characters have no place in MK!

Mr Boon pleas give the ninjas jutsu and make them have unique element or styles and make them more agressive whenever they speak during fighting or executing their move .
more savagery in their voice to match what they are doing.

I just hope they balance it out, ya know. Have their new character but keep fan favorites like Reptile, johnny cage, or Ermac.

People who dont like new things are basically cavemen or hard right republicans. . . I have spoken
I like new things. I don't like new things at the expense of old ones. Especially stuff I liked.
The ideal roster would be MK9's entire roster (minus the guest characters), plus some from MK4 and forth plus with one or two new ones.
Everyone would be happy.
But we're not getting that. And some might even mention dlc as a chance to see old favorites return. Yeah... but then again, one dlc character is a guest character. So there's already one less spot in that too.
he don't talk american real good
That must be because, "american" isn't a language in any part of the world.

I've been seeing a ton of hate, doubt, disliking for the fact that probably about half of the Mortal Kombat X cast are going to be brand new characters introduced to the series.

It's a bit scary, I understand, but Boon never fails to deliver.

A point I brought in earlier is that our favorite MK veteran characters were at one point new characters themselves.
We should give the newbies a chance and I'm pretty sure we're going to end up liking them or at least accepting them into the series.

Boon himself stated that a large number of Kombatants are going to be new, but I have faith in the game.
Sure, I wanted to see Nitara and Kira, but I'm pretty sure MKX is going to turn out fine.

Who knows, we might fall in love with one of the newer ones in place of our current favs

Let's not forget about DLC possibilities.
(the rumor goes 16 veterans and 14 new ones are going to make up the roster of 30)
perhaps a large majority of the DLC will be some our favorites who didn't make the original cut!!

Just trying to keep people positive!
Agreed bro!
