What's new

a Tier list because its been a while

7L

Heads up!
not sure if it is character specific.

I never did it before until FR when I was playing @7L in casuals. Then I did it on my first try. lol
Its all timing. The timing to backdash 111 on hit/block, 33 on block, b13 on block and 22 on hit into super are all different timings.

Its better to not risk 4 bars and just wiff a standing 1 into guaranteed reset.

Then you adjust it with a point system, just like BillStickers did in MK9. Just like DuckNation did a few months ago.

And that's exactly why tier lists shouldn't be made by 1 person. Because 1 person doesn't have enough experience and knowledge to cover the entire cast.

You can't make a list based on "the tools a character has", because even if the tool sounds great on paper, it may not work against anyone.
But then we're using a subjective system with arbitrary numbers. The point is that there is no real way to quantify these variables.

And yes I can cuz I'm smarter than everyone

EventHubs is doing a matchup chart type of thing for SF4 and BB, where its users input matchup numbers for their specific characters. EH then takes the numbers and averages them out per matchup. After that, it's standard matchup chart affair, tally up the numbers, then there you go.

TYM could do something like that. And the way EH has it set up, you can always modify the numbers at a later time. No more bickering because the proof is in the pudding with the common opinion that is the average.

A matchup chart works for a tier list, just not in the way TYM uses it. EH's system is actually perfect, because it's based on a common ground for opinions, and the results don't lie.

This is the result of EH's system: http://www.eventhubs.com/tiers/sf4/

I know, what I'm saying is that it works better in games with less lopsided matchups. Like, if you take characters like Hawkgirl and Cyborg who have a few really good matchups, but also some unwinnable ones, it can skew their placing to make them look better than they should be.

That's why you give it a weight system. Make it worth more to beat a top character, and not really much to beat a worse character.
