With MKX only a week away, everyone is chomping at the bit to play this game! We've seen so much about the game, so many new characters and redesigns that make us love the old characters even more. Since the announcement of the game, we've gotten used to pretty much seeing all of these characters... but what were we like back when the game was announced? Here are some examples of gun-jumping at it's finest.

Before we jump onto guns, let us look back on the very first reply to the news of MKX at E3.

I'm just so depressed right now. The gameplay looks super slow and ugly. Interactables are fucking stupid and new chars r wack. It looks too much like Inj which is fucking sad.

i really didn't like injustice and it seems MK goes in the same direction,c'mon interactables?also this new characters to me they don't belong in the MK universe,i want ninjas not some cartoon yellow lady bug. hope i'm wrong and when the demo is available it blow my mind but this injustice with fatalities.

@Youphemism, being the most negative person ever, liked all of these posts. Even after interactables were confirmed blockable! I doubt this guy's even looking forward to the game, tbh.

No I've actually only liked one of the posts in the OP, so why exactly are you picking me out of the people who actually didn't like the game before and still don't like it now for example?

And for the record, I only liked Trickylizards post because of the comment on how the gameplay looked. I didn't like the animations at first because they seemed really "buttery" to me but I'm fine with them now. So if you're going to pick one someone pick on someone who legitimately jumped the gun.

Best thing for me is feel of the game. Its dark and fucked up and feels like MK.

I like how MKX was suppose to be the wet dream of every edgy kid in FGC, but now we have a cheesy story mode, ninja mime alt. costumes and selfie fatalities.

Edgy kids? Dude this game has been tongue in cheek since the 90's. Johnny Cage as a character was made as a "lol" at Jean Claude Vandamme in the very first MK.

This game isn't even that dark.

Did you see that first 25 minutes of story mode video? Shit is still campy as ever. Even the intro dialogue between non "joke" characters(like Johnny I guess?) is still campy.

To me it looks like a re-skinned injustice. The characters still have the stiff animations from previous games, I mean wooden animations, like they dont move naturally. There are the stage interactions as well, I even heard some sound effects from injustice, that meter mechanic sound. Not saying the game looks bad, graphically it looks great but the animations are stiff. Gameplywise it looks like fun but not something I would play competitively. Still gonna support it and buy it just to see the fatalities Oh and the giant with the midget on his back straight out of mad max sold me.

Game looks stupid as hell, this is coming from a life time MK fan...

omg....this is such a buzzkill. I was expecting much better than this. I'm actually quite disappointed.

Everyone keeps bringing up the Injustice comparison but what bothers me most is how for a debut trailer how crappy it is. The only thing that looks Mortal Kombat to me is Sub Zero and scorpion. And the fatalities shown while elaborately detailed look very silly. As a promo for the game it just really is missing the mark. Unless they just have a lot more classic MK stuff to show off soon, this game will not go over nearly as well.

Inj looked and played horrible... Why does MKX have to look just like Inj and play even worst? Fuck interactables I thought NRs got the memo that we all hate it. The gameplay looks stiffed, slow, weird and boring. What ever happen to MK .

Leave the recycling to Capcom pls...

Innovation for NRS would be a GOOD netcode; this is just recycled garbage.

So, i quoted a guy who said that he likes how "dark and fucked up" this game looks after NRS released first gameplay video. I thought it's funny how MKX turned out to be a total cheese fest like any other MK game rather than being whatever those moody teenagers expected it to be. And now you're saying to me the same thing that i said in this thread half an hour ago.
