Tech Revival of Mortal Kombat 9

If we are going to make a kommunity Tournament Edition tm of the game we need to be reasonable and think about what was good and bad in the game. Our priorities need to be something like this.
1. Bug fixing
2. Reset removal
3. Balancing the game with MINOR tweaks. We don't need to add things like safe armored launchers, get out of jail free cards, or get in for free moves. Most of the top tier characters need to be nerfed a bit and some of the worst characters need complete reworks however.
4. In my opinion we need to look at useless strings and normals and ex moves and try tweaking them to make them more useful. For example the majority of standing 4s in the game. Give characters newish tools to work with to spice up the game.

naaah, the top tiers don't need to be nerfed, just give everyone else a better set of tools. From what i heard, its not that Kabal is broken, its just that he was designed the best out of everyone else. (even if some of his playstyle came about by complete accident) Just get everyone else to match that. No i don't think that means we all may as well be playing kabal if u'd go that route, because every characters skills are different.

Kabal dominates 90% of the cast hard but there are characters who can fight him far better than anyone can fight scorp

I seriously think that the best way to revive MK9 is by playing it on PC and patch the games ourselves.

Have a kommunity official balance patch for the game that we have always wanted. We should give it a different name to distinguish it from the official game itself and from there on start fresh. We can start by creating a site for it, instructions on how to install, forum for discussion on the characters and what should be changed which SHOULD ONLY BE LIMITED TO PLAYERS THAT ARE KNOWN TO BE ONE OF THE BEST WITH THAT CHARACTER. Everyone else can have discussion outside of the back room and discuss ideas that maybe the ones programming or making changes with this patch themselves can consider. Not only should our kommunity balance patch focus on character balance but also system/mechanic fixes such as the port priority bug, input bug, meter glitch, etc). What I personally hope for from this kommunity patch is to give insane viability to all the other characters outside of top 5 in order to keep MK true to it's insane/broken nature from it's entire roster that they could have had if it weren't for top tiers sucking the mids and lows dry and just make minor fixes to the top tier characters if needed. I wouldn't want Kabal,Kenshi, Freddy, etc nerfed to hell out of past frustration.

Now this won't dramatically revive MK9 to the point of bringing in a hugh amount of entirely new players but i'm sure this will reel in back most of the players that have left MK a long time ago as they will come back to it once again. Only downside is that it will be very questionable as to how it will be ran in tournaments and this may not probably go so well with everyone who have shitty PCs. Also, probably no online. But it's still possible to play a modded version of MK online. I believe it can be done with SSF4AE.

Just an idea...I too do not want MK to die though.

Scorp's spear doesn't have an all-encompassing hitbox above, below, and behind him, and isn't cancleable into a free armored string.

I don't know if this is a reference to it not being able to AA, hit mid, or have priority over unblockables, but it does. If you're talking about crossing Scorp up then that's suicidal even without meter.

The flash parry is admittedly another debate in itself and I even asked Zoidberg if he meant EX NDC when he said flash parry, and he just meant a regular EX Dash on the grounds that it's a full screen armored combo starter.

I actually can't believe how stupid this turn of event is. All over a single DLC and bunch of intractables. Injustice doesn't have half the bullshit MK9 has and somehow we should go back to input bugs, 1 net=80% of your health gone, Smoke Smoke my health bar, braindead characters like Sonya and Cage, almost half the cast just not viable to compete with the Top Tiers...No thanks I believe Injustice is a way better game personally and it's getting no complaints from the KoF community.

Believe it or not, it does catch Cage's pokes, but that's a good point, I forgot about that. This is more to do with the 3D hitbox idiosyncrasies though, so even under ideal circumstances you can just read and block anyway. If a Cage player wants to jump over me instead of jail me then uh.. that's their prerogative..

I have no issue EX spearing stuff on reaction as long as it's offline. I don't necessarily see that as broken though, that's just part of being more complacent with footsies imo.

As I say, take this with a pinch of salt, it's just to avoid a clusterfuck of Kano scenarios where we've missed the point on something and can't decide if they're too good or we nerfed them overkill.

If he was forced to commit and had the armored frames redistributed like Cage's EX shadow kick, I guess that'd be reasonable.

about Kung Lao? yeah he should have his old lowhat back. maybe kabal's zoning could get slowed down a bit, but don't destroy what makes him good.

also, KL eats large hitboxes for breakfast, i have no idea how someone could say possibly loses to kenshi 4-6, i say KL takes it 6-4 at the highest lvl.
