If this was Batgirl or something reasonable like that I'd agree with you and would be laughing like a hyena and pointing at the nerfherders the whole time but anyone who doesn't understand why Scorpion is game ruining either had a trans-orbital lobotomy or is just naturally that damaged.

No one cried for nerfs to those characters anywhere near as hard. There's a difference between acknowledging or opining as to a character's tier placement and crying for a nerf.

And more importantly, the community actually tried to adapt first. Youtube anti phoenix tech and see how many hits you get.

I find it funny that PL shits on the MK community and uses a MK character in a DC universe based game. It's clear he's extremely scared that he doesn't have a chance of winning evo without scorpion. There have been other bans and restrictions, nerfs etc. in the past and he's never spoken so vocally against them. So the "I just want the MK community to level up" argument is BS.

Once again the problem with scorpion isn't that he's impossible to beat, it's that he makes this game look like a joke and pushes away players who are already apprehensive about NRS games. Reo said it himself, he beats people without even having to think. That's the worst possible thing that can be said about a game on a competitive level, and it's coming from one of the most successful NRS players out there (Heck PL won't even play him unless forced to in tourney).

I have had the liberty of facing Mao's Lex quite a few times online and offline and yeah he can run a very nasty Lex, I can't seem to grab a hold of using him, just isn't my style of play, but with what I have seen Mao do he makes most the cast look pitiful.
