lol, let's just wait and see what happens. Batgirl is awesome but she does not have a tool as good as KF slide. I main both characters and play them at a very high level.

I dont play at a very high level as im pretty new to fighters but the more and more I play and the more and more me and my skill level improves, the more and more i say "thank godddd for KFs vortex" I have a hard time imaging her working without it, just because of how hard it seems to get in against some really good players. But i might be bad, if really good KFs are constantly getting in cleanly and successfully opening up their opponents then i guess it wouldnt matter and you could just go for damage. IDK if i'd spend meter on a shittier vortex though. If they nerfed it maybe it'd be better to just go for damage with mb icebergs and shit?

I would advise looking for setups outside of the vortex to compliment your game and work on those. There are plenty of ways to end combos with max damage into setups like cross ups and trait charges. Don't focus on the bad aspects of the character like her weaker normals in comparison to a lot of the cast, but focus on using slide and the threat of it coupled with her normals to help open people up.

but from all the tourney gameplay ive actually seen of KF, doesnt seem like anyone does anything but their vortex unless a max damage combo is going to get the kill.

Seriously, if you guys only spent time working on her trait charges, then I'm glad you guys will drop her since she will "suck". It shows that you guys didn't put any effort into learning the character and only focused on the brain dead aspects to her game that was inevitably gonna be exploited. I'm sure people like bit, Jer, RiBBz22 and myself have focused on the other aspects to her gameplay and if this nerf does happen, we will be fine since we have other things to fall back on.

F1124 isn't her only reset. She doesn't even need to use trait charge for her other reset.
She still has 50/50s once she touches you. Hit or block.
Still has frame traps

Still a beast.

You guys asked for an amazing training mode. Now we have it. Learn to use it.

lmao or j22 or just say screw it and trait charge into a correctly timed inescapable 50-50... To be honest, the thing that would make me the most mad about losing the trait cancel is just how swag it looks in combos lol.

Unless (quite possible) i havent scoured the forums enough there really isnt a lot of people educating the KF forum about these other resets and stuff, but thank you for posting the standing 2 one. Not sure why you didnt reply with that immediately after the guy originally posted about the nerf though.

I know this game has a great lab but you have to understand maybe some of us arent fighting game vets. For someone who has never played a fighter until 2 months ago you can understand how the entirety of the game genre is so overwhelming that we / I would just learn what I need to about KF, then start paying attention to more core and fundamental aspects of the game. When I still suck ass at blocking and drop half my fucking combos you can see how I wouldnt really want to spend much time in the lab learning new tech, let alone whether id have any idea how to

But i am comforted to hear from a smart, top KF that the character isn't completely fucked if this happens and I am certainly excited to start making efforts to learn more of KFs potential and not just ragequitting the character.

And here I was living a fantasy life where I thought all of us were true disciples of the Ice Maiden, and were on the same page in terms of understanding her character, and putting out collective knowledge into actual training time and use.

I play you on ranked ladder on occasion and you fucking dominate me. You, Khaotik, ribbz, 16 bit, etc all top KFs. But I hope you can understand how for someone newer who lacks some knowledge, this nerf was overly intimidating. That doesn't make us some lower scum or "not true disciples"... It makes us less skilled or experienced players. If I was one of the most skilled KFs I'd try to teach people why KF isn't fucked without being upset that people are less knowledgeable than me.

So no, we're not all on the same page in terms of understanding the character. Was this a surprise to you? lol

Well regardless of any patches I'm taking the ice maiden to CEO, EVO and VXG. I think regardless of trait cancels she'd be the character for me. You remove those today and it'd be a noteworthy nerf but she'd still be one of the most solid characters in the game.

I wouldn't consider myself a top KF, just maybe above average, however most people insult Frost users saying she's braindead, YOLO slides, we don't have to work etc. etc., so to see Frost users give up so easily when news of 'potential' nerfs come their way, the overreaction and 'I'm dropping Frost' responses is disheartening, and shows that there may be some truth to their words. I didn't mean you in particular however. I considered you a fellow Frost brother. What's your tag? I might remember you, as I tend to remember the names of ALL my opponents on ranked. i think trait cancel nerf isn't much of an issue thanks to j2 2 as replacement, but i think it might make the aquaman matchup a little worse because you won't have any post-MB grab 50/50s against him.

Aquaman MU will still be the same. After MB grab, just charge your trait then do a well timed slide/f3.
