I played a skilled Ares today (GT-PGorath) with my Bane and it was frustrating getting in.. If you guys are on XBL I suggest challenging him, it'd be a good way to settle this debate. Besides, i'm nowhere near as confident as some of you guys sound (no sarcasm), so I can't really gauge the MU honestly.
Personal experience isn't what decides an MU, it's a gauge of the tools and how the characters interact. GS poses no threat to us, his projectiles aren't as bad as some of what we have to deal with, and he has little to no chance on wake-up against us. That combination along with us being strongest in his weakest field and not hindered by most of his kit is what makes it in our favor by as much as 7-3.

Considering it's a matter of numbers and technicalities, I concede

Found something pretty weird, that i don't know if is useful or not but, i was messing around in training mode against scorpion and found if i put him on always block and reversal option to be the teleport punch, that if i do body splash into b.3 we don't get it and it hits him and we get a full combo.

Wait what?
Ok so to sum it, on wake-up we can do jump=in body splash to b.3 and it'll hit?

Potentially yeah, there seems to a brief window on our b.3 that when scorpion uses teleport punch we don't get hit and he somehow ends up in front and does

Kind of makes sense since B3 essentially has Bane lying down horizontally. If the Tele punch is supposed to hit you in the upper chest/head area and that hurtbox moves backwards during B3, I can see teleport punch whiffing on b3 because the hurtbox changes so much.

I'd imagine it would be harder to replicate online because the timing seems super specific, but i imagine if you practiced it enough it would work.

This particular setup doesn't look too useful. However, this discovery does. Thinking time.

Bane blows up Scorpions wakeups free and without venom.

Neutral Jump Body Splash on Scorps wakeup:
vs TelePunch = Full Combo
vs Takedown = Full Combo or at least safe
vs Spear = safe
vs Hellfire = safe
vs Flip Kick = can still hit you, but just space yourself correctly and its no issue
vs Wakeup Super = Full Combo (reversed inputs)

Flip kick is the ONLY wake-up that matters, and Bane does not blow it up for free. I know it sounds dumb that I focus on the one move that matters, but that one move is all that matters. I don't see Bane getting out of string cancel into flip kick. I'll have to look into the flip kick hitbox to see if there are holes in it.

Alright, so i've been experimenting more in the lab against scorpion and i found some interesting things to note:

You cannot b.3 on scorpion's wakeup after a normal command grab, air throw or charge. From what i've found, it only works from a sweep, double punch or venom uppercut.
If you end the combo in a MB command grab, you can do b.3 immediately and it is the perfect timing for it to hit.
Charge setups ie b2,3 1, 113, charge and setups similar to that do not work on scorpion. A incredibly strange event occurs, The game acts like scorpion is infront of you, where you are charging and where he wokeup but the game considers scorpion's hurt box blocking. So Raging Charge looks like it's blocked but scorpion isn't there and you get hit.
If you block a teleport punch you can stand 1, or air throw as a reversal and it hits him everytime.
You can beat flip kick as deadman said with a body splash, but it has to be timed early or it will trade or lose.

If i find anything else i'll let you guys know ;)

Scorpion: Bane's JD3 make's Scorpion's teleport whiff on wakeup and then leads to a full combo for Bane (unless Scorpion uses ex)

What are you doing on wakeup that is so dominant against Ares?
