Let's show these fools that we're more than a bunch of whiners.

Even though we already currently have the most informative threads about our character lmao. I don't see a thread anywhere in the Supes forums that's titled "How to deal with Superman's Rushdown"

I'm not so sure if this needs one honestly. Never in the video did I claim this vortex beat every wakeup in the game. However, I will say that it DOES beat some. In the video I show GL's might being beaten. It beats DS's sword spin, and most standstill, 1 direction wakeups would probably be beat as well (liek Sinestro's spider arms).

So Nay or Yay on the chart?

Do it if you want. For the most part though, we should be finding ways to handle wakeups we see coming once the opponent decides to wise up.

Or heck, EVERY KF player ALWAYS wakes up with the slide. You should be dead set on dashing in and jumping backwards :p

One thing I'd like to look into though is control reversing. Since you can switch sides, the opponent might have their left and right axis switched mid move execution.

Actually I think it might be a good idea, it would be important to know which characters can beat one of our main offensive tools, ill help you out by checking some of the wake ups

The switch only occurs in the corner, so far I haven't had a problem with wake ups mid screen.

Actually this might be false. I've been messing around with cross ups recently and if you do a JI1 - B1U2 from the left side and it crosses up, the B1U2 would still come out on the right.

Ok good to know. Just remember, if you're going to test the wakeups vs. this vortex, don't scale the HKD too hard beforehand.

I've tested the first 9 characters so far, and it seems like the same exact pattern, they can back dash if you do the same side, but they can't if you delay it. They can also wake up, but their wake ups usually whiff either a full punish or guns punish for Deathstroke, the chart seems kinda pointless since it's pretty universal

Then what of the Vortex? Maybe it'd be a general rule to get them to respect the cross-up first before trying to go for the non-cross up.

And since you're already testing. Could you test the forward dash approach? As in the same way you'd deal with a regular cross-up.

That's pretty much the general rule of most crossup vortexes. The crossup is usually what they don't see coming first. Once they try to make moves to counter that, we counter that ourselves.

I'm almost certain the DS boards are one of the most constructive character boards here. We know too much. We have J360, TONY-T, DaiHuu AKA chart master, yours truly, and many others :p

You know how long I had to wait to find a good combo thread in the Lex and Cyborg forums? Hitoshura had a good combo thread going before I even made an account here.

I think that's the idea, make them respect the cross up, and then do some random shit with it.

Results of trying this on Superman, Black Adam, Grundy, and Bane due to their amazing dashes.

If you do a non cross up and they decide to forward dash, they get hit out of it, but can back dash.
If you do a delayed cross up and they decide to back dash, they get hit out of it, but can forward dash.

Mikman360

I am now putting chart master as my title. ;p

So I was right, they don't have to block-respect it. We should keep this info here lol. This is bad.

I don't think it's bad. They STILL have a very small amount of time to react to which dash they need to pick. On paper you'd think it possible, but in a match, as soon as DS goes airborne, THEY are on the spot for picking the correct dash based on when he J1s.

Lol, I am absolutely useless to this forum. ;__;

We appreciate you for your sense of humor. We need this.

XD

Btw, mind if I quote your last 2 posts and update my vortex thread with it? Seems like important info, at least for DS players so we know how to mix it up.

Go for it, this is for everyone! :D

I found out something weird that's kinda not important, but I felt it was.

So I tested this out on Harley Quinn and Batman, who are pretty small characters, and Grundy, which this doesn't work on. So big bodies can't be effected by this.

If you do a non cross up on them, and they block correctly, you stay on the same side.
However, if you do a non cross up, and they block incorrectly, Deathstroke goes on the other side.

So what does that mean? By them blocking incorrectly on the non cross up, they'll think it's a cross up because of how DS switches sides, which means they're nearly ALWAYS gonna try to block the non cross up way, because deathstroke doesn't stay on the same side for the smaller characters. Especially if they don't know the matchup. I confused myself typing this, but I hope you understand what I'm getting at. XD

That seems... A little bit better. BTW I'm not useless totally, you just find all the tech before me ;_;

I have a good sense of humor. And you guys are the few new players I don't resent with blind rage.

It really isn't hard. DS doesn't have the shittiest jump in the game but you can easily react to an orange flying ball after said ball dashed.

Coin flip, motherfucker, choose right. But the risk/reward is actually pretty fair. Compared to other 50/50s in this game.

Just an ambiguous cross-up. Understood.
