Probably just need more HG experience lol. I had issues with HG hovering at max height and being unable to LM her for it.
Jump and mb turbine. If she tries to horizontal mace toss/mace charge thinking you're gonna air turbine toward her, she'll get hit by mb turbine. This alone ruins HG's zoning.

Oh yes cause nothing ruins zoning like an 8% turbine toss that relies on meter with no follow up, even as a g.l main I have to admit turbine toss is one of the most useless e.x moves in the game. That being said, it could potentially knock her back into g.L's trait gatlin zoning so might actually be a legit option in that scenario. Will have to test it, I considered it worse than ssbb ganondorf

=>Build meter from fullscreen away by throwing out oa rockets on the ground.
=>If hawkgirl still continue zoning, proceed to mb air turbine
=>Start building meter again
=>If Hawkgirl tries to get in and you see a wing evade coming, prepare to lantern's might.

Mb turbine is just there to say "You have to go upclose against me, you can't outzone me". You shouldn't even care about it wasting meter since you can build it for free because she can't touch you from fullscreen, and if she tries she'll probably get hit by a bullet/lm.

8% isn't bad since it completely shuts down her zoning and force her to come at you. Thanks ti LM you got the advantage against most of her pressure too.

It stops her zoning style yes, but every character has some competence close range, (even raven) so if she starts jumping over rockets and begins crouch blocking and slow moving in, she could in theory gain the ground to close the gap if she can manage starting hi low options on lantern's very mediocre wake up. I gave it a 6.5-3.5, so its not like I am saying she should win, just with interactives and intelligent players, anything can happen in this game. Assuming they are around the same level of skill.

After about 1000 matches with green lantern I'll say he can handle most of the cast pretty even for the most part, his worst match ups in my opinion are fast oriented characters, mainly Green Arrow, NightWing, Doomsday and Batgirl.

Batgirl-Yeah
Green Arrow-Probably
Nightwing-I'm leaning more towards even or very slight advantage to NW depending on if he gets GL in a corner.
Doomsday-I haven't had too much trouble against him. However it could be solidly even.

I am having a lot of trouble against superman, and its not due to f23 anymore, even through that string is ridiculous. Its his brain dead zoning, even if I natural jump the air heat vision, I can the be out zoned due to heat zap, and if I i get touch by even one mb heat vision I'm instantly sent back to full screen. I'm not sure what to do about his zoning.

Hey Kyle, good job on dealing with his f23 it could get pretty annoying. If you're winning you can actually trade or even win with your OA's rocket because of supermans start up move it can beat his heat zap but don't get too comfortable because he can jump by counter with air heat vision.

You can dash once after a heat zap so you can close in pretty fast just gotta remember not to fall for the heat vision meterburn, It's actually counter productive for superman to waste his meter burn on blocked heat vision. When ducking if you see heat vision always remember to block normal instead of low. If he's spamming a lot of ground moves you can actually jump and use air rockets on him for some free damage, again don't get too comfortable with this as his air heat vision will beat your air rockets if too close.

if he spams a lot of air heat visions, you can close in the gap with the air launcher thing, just remember you have to be far away, too close and you'll still get hit, but your air launcher will work from far and knock him down.

Too bad you're not on xbox so we could practice.

For HZ just walk duck them. If he does heat vision Instead of heat zap block it while you're still crouching and quickly block high in case of MB which is overhead.

Superman is the new JC only with more braindead pressure and viable zoning.

Yea I have been thinking that for a while, though I wanted to get a better opinion than mine since my GL isnt that great yet.

batgirl is honestly probably his worst match-up. A rushdown character capable of ridiculous turtling.

you lose HARD both up close and outside of lift range. Her safe 50/50 reset vortex doesn't help and when she wants to, she slows the match down to a crawl with her turtling. You have to walk her into the corner like pre-patch death stroke but it takes FOREVER and at any point she can switch gears and surprise you with rush down.

After cyborg and DS nerfs I'd call the matches even; DS might even be in his favor now that it's super easy to move forward.

Sinestro might be much harder now with his buffs though.

After getting a lot of batman experience there are ways to handle him. The trick is to not get scared into letting him go ham with trait bats because if you let him do that you die.

So yea, I think he loses to batgirl pretty bad and maybe sinestro but goes even or wins over the whole rest of the cast.

Just one important thing about Sinestro zoning everyone who isn't already should be aware about; after his MB fireballs don't dash. If Sinestro follows up with a regular fireball or another MB fireball it will hit you out of the dash.

Oh and about Batgirl MU. Can't use any interactables pretty much. Teleport beats it everytime.

Opinions on Scorpion so far? Doesn't seem to bad for GL, his teleport is quite easy to block or to dodge with b1. Generally most of the stuff he has seems easily blockable and punishable, not sure if he is generally weak or people are just not yet that good with him. Most I played try to spam combinations of specials, not sure how he fares against GL in your face, but he doesn't seem to have to many options to get in easily. Thoughts?

G.l is good on scorpion, just get life lead and stay crouching and react to "kill him with fire". Your combos are more guaranteed than his off stray hits.

catwoman:

the recent buff to her f1 into an overhead is pretty good but not that big of a deal from a neutral game standpoint. When you're in neutral game always block high; her overhead combo starters have good range but her lows do not. everyone likes to up-play her "new 50/50" but she can only do it if she's at advantage right next to you (after a close jump in or hard knockdown for example). She does have the whip trip move, but I wouldn't really worry about it, just try to block it on reaction if you see it; if you do you can punish with lift since it's -33.

Catwoman gets straight up murdered in the neutral game by GL. She has to take huge risks by doing stuff like EX cat dash on a read (which can be blocked an punished) or jumping at you with j2 (which has a really good hitbox but ever leaving the ground against GL is taking your life into your own hands). All her normals except f1 are stubby as fuck so you have free reign to press b1 and 223 at their ranges as well.

zone her with a combination of air rockets and trait+chaingun while baiting EX catdash. Catwoman players love to throw that move around so blow them up for it. when she's a little closer switch gears to using your superior ground normals or jumping at her (she has no good AA either).

You can almost do whatever you want in the neutral game.

Things become a little more difficult when she lands a hit and knocks you down. Her f1/b1 can be a hard to block as you're getting up; they're pretty quick but the animations are drastically different so you can tell immediately which way to block. Or you can cut the bullshit and go for a wake up lift, either way.

Beyond that she has a bunch of shenanigans on wake up that I'm not too familiar with. One I know of is where she'll catdash over your body and then EX it which causes her to reverse direction and hit from the other side. This is fucking stupid because you can just neutral down guard both sides but I still see it done.

tl;dr

she can't do shit until she lands a hit

shoot her with air rockets and trait+chaingun while baiting and punishing catdash - 1/2 to full screen.

use your superior ground normals and jump at her from 1/2 screen and closer, be careful of her j2 from here though.

you must defend when up close, but she doesn't have significant advantage on anything so mashing d1 isn't a bad idea.

you must deal with her mix ups and shenanigans if you get knocked down.

With GA u just need to be patient, its 5-5

If only u could free fwd.dash DD`s Nova, it would be absolutely in Lantern`s favor. But, nope, here is 5-5.

BG is tough, but only for 4-6 in her favor. He can`t zone her at all, but the funny thing is, she has nothing on midscreen to scare him too. Its probably, the game of lifelead. Who gets it first is a winner.
 
How are you dealing with batman pressure mainly his jump 2. His bat trait crossup is stupid. His strings are op. Batman can jump 2 st. 22 and if you block it he can jump 2 crossup. Ive tried lm but it comes out to late. mb f3 & b3 but it always comes out with gl facing the wrong way. Ive tried.jump back 1 but his jump 2 wins everytime. Cant air rocket him win he has bats or you will eat the bat trait grapple bs. Ive tried push guard but when he has just one bat he becomes a challenge. People say rush him down when he doesnt have a bat ready but he gets bats so quick that you literally only have about 5 sec. before he's able to call out a bat. I need help with this mu.

Forward jump 1 beats batmans jump 2 when timed correctly, going for a full combo with this he'll start jumping less making you have more control of the match, once you have the life lead you can just zone him, check my most recent video I have some matches vs some pretty good batmans. Play on metropolis rooftop for an advantage with interactables.
