Stop overrating MK9's Balance, Injustice is better

Nail in the coffin...

On 2 occasions Kabal has won multiple MAJORS in a row with the players using ONLY Kabal, not just locals... MAJORS!! Done by 2 different players at 2 different points in the games life. No other character even comes close to that, regardless of what point the game's evolution was at.

I don't know. MK had its balance issues. You don't see a lot of characters like Jade, Sindel, Sheeva, Kano, Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero, Stryker or Baraka. I know some people use them... but you mostly just see Kabal.

Out of the Injustice I have seen a decent variety. But the Aquaman, Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern spam at the tournaments isn't too good either. I need to wait and see until Injustice reaches the end of its life to answer this question correctly. For now I agree with REO because he knows better than I do. I will be more informed once the patches hit and evo hit. :16Bit

And do not get me started on how imbalanced and preposterous characters like Kenshi were for 90% of the cast.

The days of 9-1 match-ups are over with Injustice. IMO, the worst match-ups I've seen or experience in this game tend to be 3-7 because characters are given more tools to work with. There are bottom tier characters, sure, but at least they have better chance than half of the cast in MK9 ever will. I don't want to hear this delusional talk about how MK9 is just as balanced or more so than Injustice just because your character choice this time is not top tier.

Aside from the upgrade in balance, what about the riddance of game-changing glitches? Do you guys remember losing matches because of a meter drain glitch? Imagine what could have happened if your special move actually came out when you input it? Would you have won the game? How many times has this run across your mind during a tournament match? Ridiculous glitches like this are not present in Injustice.

MK9 was ruled by KKK but also had other characters who have over time proven they could win majors too

Online Tony was winning EVERY wnf with Kabal... Michaelangelo was about to win ECT 2011 for his THIRD straight major tournament win with Kabal...

MK9's balance is not as bad as you think. While there are definitely some lopsided MUs, Kabal and Kenshi are not unbeatable. Shit, even Shang can put up a fight against both of them. The biggest problem MK9 has imo are the glitches and bugs.

Injustice balance is not very good, at least not in how the game is currently played. Aquaman vs Sinestro is an 8-2 MU at a minimum. I would rather have 5 Smokes against my Shang than to have to play that MU in tournament. I guarantee you that for at least this first few months, tournaments will be won by Superman and Black Adam with an occasional Aquaman. You overrate the balance of this game.

This thread is completely useless. Injustice has only been out for a couple months. How balanced was MK9 after a couple months? Ermac was winning tournaments............ After 1 - 2 years, Injustice will be worse than MK9 in terms of balance. Superman will be winning as many tournaments as Kabal and Kung Lao combined.

You're counting locals within a month of play

In that case Mileena and ermac won a local in MK cause I did so month in

We have over two years of experience with MK9, whereas we only have a month with Injustice, it's not a really fair way to judge/gauge which one is more balanced.

To judge them fairly, we'd have to look at how Injustice looks two years from now.


I'm not saying which one is more or less balanced, just that we've had more time with MK to form a valid opinion. In the current stage of the game, we don't know enough in my opinion to compare a one month old game to an over two year old game.

Sinestro gets beat 2-8 by a lot of characters. He has no safe options, not that the other characters are too strong. Sinestro needs a buff. Even if other characters get nerfed, you will continue to get the begeezus beat out of Sinestro by a lot of characters because he has no safe options.

Injustice is infinitely better than MK9 when it comes to balance...

batamn, aquaman, black adam, superman, cyborg, GL, nightwing, green arrow, WW, deathstroke, doomsday, and killer frost are all perfectly capeable of trading major wins in tournaments at the highest level..

how about viable characters? At the VERY LEAST grundy, catwoman, ares, hawkgirl, raven, flash.

Thats 18 VIABLE tournament characters and 12 that can CONSISTENTLY win majors. Don't ever try to convince anyone that MK9 was even close to that..

Injustice being imbalanced is good for the game (and I'm not talking about the characters). It's hype.
Look at UMVC3. It's glitchy and broken as fuck, yet it's still stronk. Stream monsters want to see broken, flashy stuff. Let them.

The MK9 community needs to stop bitching and level up instead. Once again, look at MVC2, one of the most broken games out there, where Magneto / Storm / Sentinel prevails, yet the game had a 10 years life cycle and was mad hype.

Also to be fair.. You are comparing a Brand New Game to a game that had to go through like 4 patches to get right..(And still failed to balance it correctly). I think Injustice takes the cake on this one

Injustice has the potential to be much better balanced then MK9, simply because Injustice has much better designed characters, with much better toolsets.

It will be much easier to buff up characters with out breaking them, unlike MK9 where like a 1/3 of the cast just has ass moves.
