2. Your experiences in life, and in games are completely different. I wont eat at panda express because I found a big ass staple in my noodles. You probably never found a staple in your panda express. Just because you havent seen a glitch on a certain stage "Even though you have played it a lot" doesn't mean it is not a problem.

I'm never fucking eating at Panda Express again....

TYM hasn't always been like this. There's just a lot of new members that are new to fighting games in general and have a terrible mentality.

Then again, some top players have been crying about stuff in Injustice too. lol Death, lol Pig, lol KT Smith, lol F.Champ etc.

Ahh.. You lost respect points for that.... lol.

I don't jump much in this game, despite how weak anti-airs generally are.. Haha. I should probably jump more....

PS: I don't think he's an easy character to use. I kind like that since it makes it so rewarding to use him and win.
lol my bad, I might try him one more time in the future but for right now im practicing GL.

And the respect points keep dropping! lol...

That's how I feel about Harley though.. Vindication is this Saturday and I haven't been able to practice much so I'm definitely not going obscure tier....

You should check out the individual character forums. There are a lot of people looking/offering help on match-ups, people with tech or videos, and I generally see little to no complaining compared to the more general forums. At least the character forums I frequent/lurk.

I think TYM is a big contest to see how long how you've been on the site. Everyone from 2012 and beyond is a total casual who doesn't know anything about fighting games... but still it is very helpful for learning.

Oh, and if you think about posting opinions, be prepared to be met with "STOP BITCHING" posts that don't contribute to discussion at all (maybe I'm not the only one with a complex around here..?)

I've lurked here off and on for maybe a year or so Same thing I did before I finally started posting on SRK a few year back. But now I'm playing more NRS games especially now with Injustice and as a result I've been posting here more often.

Since I've been here I've seen nothing but bitching about x or y character and a complete lack of personal accountability for your own play in the TYM culture. I'm not saying it's everyone and I'm not saying it's any different from the rest of the internet but it's sad to see it's so rampant here and IDK if this is a dead horse I'm beating but yeah thats my speil. I just feel bad for the mods around here who have to clean up threads that are made to look legit but are really just people mass greifing over there losses to z character or x mechanic they dont like its sad.
I do see what you are talking about. I lurked here for a while before I joined up and there is a fair share of imbalance talk and such, but what makes this community great is the steps they take to deal with the problem. For instance, if I play a character and I have a matchup that just seems impossible I check my characters forums and see if they are running into that same problem. If they are, great, I have people I can work with in solving the problem. If not, I go in the lab and try to do it myself. I think there is a good balance to those who cry imbalance and those looking for a solution. I just choose to ignore the cries and gravitate towards finding the solutions. Kind of like turning the channel during a commercial when you're watching TV. :)

The people that are here for the right reasons greatly outnumber the people that come here to bitch. Unfortunately, negativity tends to spread faster, and tends to be louder than the positive stuff people try to do. Stick with it though, the benefits (great advice, discussion, tech, entertainment, and even friends) I've gotten from being a member here, truly outway the poor attitudes.

You could also blame it on all the new members that started playing a new game they have no understanding of that would rather bitch then learn how to counter problems they run into aka scrubs.

Everyone says "I try not to jump too much." Until they end up in a life or death situation and start jumping around like a maniac. :)

As others have said most of the older members have respect for each other. Seems to be more of the new people that have that OMG THIS IS SO BROKEN Attitude probably because they didn't put up with some of the totally lobsided matches that was MK9. My only bitching about this game so far is some of the choices of DLC characters which I'm actually warming up to them, but please please Buddah, Jesus, Allah and Spaghetti Monster in the sky let Scorpion stay out of this and pick someone actually from DC.

TYM has been like this since I joined but it has gotten worse since Injustice got announced. The amount of Nerf/Buff This threads have been staggering lately and it's only made worse when the "pro" players are doing it too basically encouraging the scrubs to do it. I love this site and will continue to use it regardless of how bad it gets. It's as simple as saying to yourself "This post is dumb" and moving on to something else. It's not hard and it requires little physical movement but instead of just hitting the back button ppl make more threads bitching about ppl bitching in threads... sounds dumb right? Cause it is dumb.

If your new to the site just remember a few things...

1) Ignore the haters they wake up in the morning and come here looking for someone they can insult or degrade so they can feel better about themselves.
2) If you don't go to tournaments (I don't) then most ppl here don't care what you say or what your opinion is cause in their heads you don't matter (they refer to us as the casuals or online guys).
3) You have the option to skip any bitching/troll threads and your exp here will be alot better if you do.

As a new member i just want to point out that not all the new members are complaining about matchups or things being broken. I dont even post much mostly because the community has already contributed anything that i would be able to, but also it seems i have to be very careful what i say on here or i could get blown up by other members. Just something i have observed. I will also add though that everyone is right about the character specific forums in that they show a different side where members are working together to get the best out of their character and i think overall TYM is a great community that can and probably will improve even more.

Well I think it's an issue for a few reasons.

One is that like MK this seems like a fairly counter pick heavy game and some matchups are going to be very hard to win.

Two is that some characters who are more specialized feel overmatched by the characters who can function at all ranges (Superman, Aquaman, Black Adam) and if you're playing a character who you like it can be difficult to justify sticking with them.

Three is that this game as a descendent of MK and a game with low-ish execution and a popular comic book license is going to be picked up by a large audience who are going to be unfamiliar with the intricacies of fighting games and find tactics that are powerful to feel insurmountable.

Four is that the netcode is terrible and while I feel that there is nothing unbeatable offline, in the environment of the input delay ridden netcode there are strategies that are pretty abusive and depending on the delay virtually guaranteed. This can translate into people (often the same people who swear the game has playable netcode) saying that certain things are unbeatable and getting an audience who have only experienced competitive play online to agree.

So yeah cost of being a popular game really.
qft!

Some people here are dicks. They will bash you for whatever you say. Just ignore them and find what you're looking for in the character forums where there's actually helpful people.

Get over here!
The complaining can get annoying... one of the best things to do is to try and help the person understand a different perspective. Another effective method of dealing with the whining is to just avoid threads like that entirely. In general it isn't what TYM is all about... does TYM have complainers? Of course. Does TYM have great members? Yes. It is just a trade off. :16Bit
